Restoring INI files

Hey guys, just wondering if there's a way to completely restore the ini files back to when the game was first downloaded. Redownload the game seems not working.

I have clearly messed up my ini settings and now I got terrible shadows.

Any help would be appreciated! thx!

The ini files are stored in your Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition*. All you have to do is delete the ini files in there (skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini) and then use the default launcher (SkyrimSELauncher.exe) to generate a new set of config files with the default settings.

*: this is the default location for all the Skyrim SE config and save files. If you changed it at some point (or are using a mod manager like MO2 which can use its own set of ini files), you'll need to check in that location instead. The config files in your actual game folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition) are not the ones used in game.

Thx for replying!  but it seems that since I have add some setting lines that were not in the inis by default, generating new ones using game launcher doesn't help

No matter which edits you have done, if the ini files in the My Games\Skyrim folder are gone the game will create a new set once you attempt to launch the game using the default executables.

That could change if you're using a mod manager that uses its own set of ini files, but that's information you didn't specify so I can only guess here.
