Molevalence Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 It's been about 2 years since I last played Skyrim. I have been reading the forums and noticed a lot of new mods and overhauls/large updates to mods I have used in the past. I now noticed there is a Legendary Edition and a Special Edition I think of the game? I have the legendary edition (the one with all expansions you could get back in the day) and wanted to ask if there is a guide I could use to reset up modding Skyrim? 2 years is a lot of time. Any assistance would be appreciated.
marcob3 Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 i used this guide, after 3 failed installation and for me worked at first try
winny257 Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 the reset a modded game is actually quite simple. but this only works if you have a backup copy of your unmodified data folder. delete modified data folder, insert original data folder, it usually takes less than 30 minutes. but as I said you need your unmodified data folder! I had the original data from my game, because I've always screwed up a lot and didn't feel like reinstalling the game over and over again.
Harvald Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Slyrim Special edition is a completely seperate game and you can't mix up anything. If you downloades LE from steam keep in mind only LE is yours. I'd rebuild my game and do not tr< to update from the old files.
Molevalence Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 Thank you all for the replies and thank you for the guide Marcob3. I will take a look at it the next opportunity I get.
