johnny2by4 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 i've downloaded a bunch of sims and looking at them through the tray importer i'm noticing that many have broken traits. is there an alternative to loading sims 4 and individually changing the sims? maybe a third party program that'll let me edit the traits?
Scorpio Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Don't know about a 3rd party utility to do this as I've never tried it myself. (Maybe someone else will comment about how to do it). I guess you want to save time from having to edit them all. Did you try extracting them in a temp folder to see what cc/mods are included? Usually custom traits would need to have that mod included for them to work anyway I assume. It's also easy to end up with duplicate cc content from downloading custom sims as some will even include outdated WW versions or other outdated mods. You have to go through their mods folder carefully before installing to look for duplicates and things you don't want. Normally if you install a sim and don't have the cc/mods included when created the game will just remove, replace, or ignore them. When you add those sims into the game they get installed to the Tray folder which is your 'My Library' (F4). Any extra cc/mods that were included have to go into mods folder separately. So the sims are not actually in the game until you use them from the Library.
