Where to start with SL framworks

Apart from the requirements mentioned in the Sexlab Framework description (SKSE, SkyUI) you need FNIS, XPMSSE, nude body replacers (like CBBE for females and SOS for males) and a mod to start the animations (there are plenty of choices here).

If you're really new to all of this I'd recommend you to check the guide I wrote to start in SE (orange link in my signature), even if you're not using MO as your mod manager, step 5 has the list of required/recommended mods with links and install instructions. Blue links are threads with info and links to pretty much all the mod available for SE, just check their description and pick your poison. Make sure you're downloading mods compatible or made for SE.

Edit: I'm almost sure this thread was in the Skyrim Special Edition section last night.

awesome, got everything to work, except.. how do i change the preference for myself and npc to straight only?  I'm a bit confused with the gender preference checkbox lol  is it possible that you can clarify this for me?

I've never have to deal with that setting TBH. If you want to control which animations are in use (for example to avoid male on male or female on female anims) you need to tweak the mods you use to start the animations.

Let's say you have Defeat and Follow me for Sex or SLEN to start animations (first is after combat, second is through dialogue). You need to go into the Defeat MCM to configure the different instances in which animations are triggered and disable male on male animations. So any scene started via Defeat will avoid these animations. Same for Follow me for Sex or SLEN, you can tweak which actors are available for dialogues (males, females, everyone) and which actors can join an animation. So all the scenes you start using dialogues from these mods will follow the rules you just set to avoid male on male or female on female animations.
