How do I install FNIS?

I followed the tutorial but when I launch it with Mo2 (the shortcut) I have: ERROR(2001) plugins.txt does not exist - reinstall FNIS.

I reinstall it a dozen times but I find it.

The tutorial? which one? there are a lot of resources about how to install X thing in MO. Plenty of videos give you a very detailed step by step.

Anyways, when installing FNIS you need to fix the folder structure so the Data level has the proper mod files.

Example:

Note the red message saying the content doesn't look valid, pressing Ok and moving on without fixing this will not install the mod correctly.

For FNIS in particular it means:

  1. Install “FNIS Behavior SE” (regular or XXL, remember only one can be installed at a time), in the Install mods window expand the "FNIS Behavior SE..." folder and right click in the "Data" folder you'll see inside. Then select "Set as <data> directory", the message should be in green confirming the folder structure is valid. Press Ok to finish the installation.
  2. If you downloaded "FNIS Creature Pack SE", install it too. Repeat the "Set as <data> directory" as usual and when you finish MO will ask you what to do with the files. Because FNIS (regular or XXL) share the same mod name as this creature pack, select Merge, so MO will preserve the base FNIS files, adding the creature pack on top.

Then you need to add the FNIS executable to MO and launch it through MO. For a step by step check step 7 here.

If you have antivirus/malware software running make sure it isn't interfering in the installation. And avoid doing installs in Program Files or Program Files(x86) as that might also interfere. If that's your case make sure you're using a Windows account with admin rights or disable the UAC.

Thank you for the answer,

That's what is explained in the tutorial, I have selected the data folder in manual installation and I have the green message as you show it and the shortcut as you indicate.

Of course I reinstalled several times, I also tried to install skyrim in a different folder. I also tried to install FNIS the old fashioned way in the game folder, I also created an empty txt file to see if it detects it.

A strange thing happens when I run Fnis directly in the folder, this error is no longer there but it only loads a part of the animations and ends with another error.

Thanks for the link, I will try.

at start-up.

Warning: Failed to read mod cache file. All mode will be reverted to uncheced state.

I pass and execute.
The animations load and at the end I get this message.
WARNING(1027): 32bit hkx file detected. This file is not supported by current skyrim's architecture

I just have sexlab to install and no animation pack.

It's better that I uninstall all Skyrim se Mo2 and all the folders that hang around and start over?

For fnis I don't have the same, but I think this is the way to indicate.

I have all reinstalled, I still get the same 2001 error when I run FNIS, (with the version you put in links) yet I follow the tutorials to the letter, I don't understand.

I'll try another fashion manager to see.

I uninstalled all of them, Skyrim and Mo2 taking care to delete every folder left and then I reinstalled all of them and it works. The animations load well, so I don't know where this error comes from. Well now I have to install all the rest, thanks for your answers.
