Armor Conversions for YII - Techniques-Labors *COTS*

Not yet. I've been distracted by a new shiny toy.  :P

Alicia and the male armor pack will be next. The guys need some help.  I'm actually working on an old request from like a year ago. I think I can finally do it, but I'm attempting to add new twist to it. To make it fit a little more into skyrim. (But only a little.)  The most hated and loved Video game character in history. Skyrim style.

I always wanted a Dragonborn daughter to follow me, so I was happy to find this mod and the CotS companions. However, when I give her any X117 clothes or armors, her hands do not match the body anymore - they look far to large. Additionally there are gaps between feet and body!

I am confused now - CotS seems to use the X117 skeleton, why do the armors provided here not match? Shouldn't they be compatible with the CotS clothes?

Of course. They should be fully compatible. Did you somehow not install the mods textures (CotS)? You could have a load order issue...that's a weird problem.

If you're having issues with with anything Children of the Sky related, read this post.

Not sure if it is just my install so checking here and no, I did not read through all 30+ pages to see if it was already mentioned, sorry.

Anyway... when I try to equip the Dandelion skirt the bra comes off and vice versa (Brokefoot, Blackfoot, ugg don't remember). No other issues with the rest of the set.

I would guess this is a slot conflict issue. I could probably change it in creation kit but what slot to use for which?

There doesn't seem to be a standard for what goes in the extra available slots. Do you use your own or follow the 'suggested' wiki format?

Help or advice appreciated. Thanks.

What he said.   :P

Male armor pack in progress. It should have about 5 or 6 in it.

Awesome, really have been waiting for this.

Also have been looking around a lot for more male clothing but never really found anything elsewhere, so I am glad you are busy with it, though in my search I did find that druid essentials has druid armor in it that fits pretty darn well on a male sky child also for some reason (aside from the cloak).

I personally would love some sort of persian pants or a hakama in a variety of colours for male sky children so that he has a naked upper body from the waist up, some sandals as foot armor and/or just bare feet (though that can be accomplished by just not wearing foot armor naturally), and some bracelets crossed over eachother on the wrists so you have your own male bladedancer/dancer.

That would be awesome, your own (elegant but deadly) bladedancer.

All in all, thank you.

Always working on something. Just finished part 2 of my studded collection.  Now I'm working on something I have no idea how I'm going to do.  :(

Hope you don't mind if i ask you?

Someone or maybe even you working on face/body it self?

Im already very pleased also with armor avaible by you guys Thumbs up for that, but some improvements on face body would be great.

I remember that issue popped up after it first came out, but I do not remember what it was to fix it. Something to do with load order I'm sure. Push it further down the list.  Running other custom races can sometimes cause that problem as well. Load order is the main cause.

I never changed Brookfoots .esp. I just swapped out the meshes. Your the first to say that, so maybe your missing part of the file?

The good news is that I have made a Persian type Jinn/Djinn Genie outfit for boys and girls. The bad news is that I cannot make the pants.  I have spent days trying to make then, but my skills are not up to the task. :@  (AKA they look like shit.)  To make the material loose around the legs and then come to a cuff, I cannot make the wrinkels in them to mabe it look good. They end up looking worse the "Hammer Pants" (Only the chosen few will get that reference)

I use everybody else's mods to make my faces. There is a lot more work involved in that, and I just don't have the time to take on another project.

I got it and somehow I don't think I'm "chosen" because of that... more like gravely damaged by my childhood ;)

Still you might want to keep that version, maybe someday someone plans to make new assassin guild quests and one of them is to kill the infamous bard with his stupid pants who's rumored to have a dwarf in those pants who sings for him, because lorewise I don't think there's another explanation for playback... hell it makes more sense than the real story, you even get an explanation for the pants : )

Poor dwarf though...

Haha, I bet that can be quite difficult yes. But oh well, looking forward to those male armors as that pic with the assassin's creed armor looks great yes.

Shhhh.. Don't tell anyone, but I have actually worn them once. I went to a costume party dressed as half MC hammer and half Vanilla Ice. Needless to say all pictures have been hunted down and destroyed.  :P

I've just work on the pants again to see if I can get them any better. So far its not bad but still needs more work. If I can get them where I like them I'll put out a Jinn/Genii set for boys and girls.

This sounds like a node use problem. Odds are that the bra and skirt are trying to use the same body nodes. You can only have one piece of armor on each node. Thankfully for mods like these, there are 25+ nodes that the vanilla game doesn't touch, but that doesn't mean that some mistakes won't be made.

Hey lostdaywalker, I kinda want to keep converting some vanilla armors that just look absurdly out of place with the x117 body, but I'm having trouble trying to decide which to do next. I did the Ancient Falmer first because A) I love the armor, and B) even in the base game, there never was a separate mesh for the female body, they just re-used the male one, causing even Nord women wearing it to look like they had 6 feet of air inside their chest cavity. I'm trying to think of what other armors are most like this... any ideas? :P

I found these meshes: ashen meshes.rar (and the associated plugins) a while ago.  Not sure who did them, I can't remember where I found them and I can't seem to find them again anywhere online.  But perhaps they will help you in your quest?

There's always Elvin and Glass. Although, me saying  that is kind of like a cheat since they are my least favorite and will probably never "get around" to doing them.  :P

Male pack is progressing slowly but surely. Hopefully there will be something in there for everybody.

wow, are the cat ears, earrings and goggles part of it? That looks neat with that headband! And loving the way the set looks.

Now we're talking about cat ears anyway, does something/a mod actually exist that makes cots wear/have cat ears and a khajiit tail? hehe, Zidane for final fantasy 9 recreated then sort of, and well, there's just something cool about a fluffy tail. :P

Like the tail of a snow leopard :3 , awesome looking cat.

I think those mashes are from Ashen Trap mod made by pogost. He has a male child race that has some vanilla armors conversion.

Also Luthien has an armor swapper that is compatible with CotS.

These guys used to be in the Children of Cyrodiil forums before it went down.

They are now on:

Back on topic, I don't know if this was said before, but the helmet of the Malace armor clips and I can see the back of my character head, even if i'm using a short hair, is that a known issue or is this just some mod conflict in my end? Also, I can't donwload the meshes for Nero and dante armors, Mega just says that the file is temporarily unavailable, it has been like this for 7 days now, is that a monthly bandwidth problem?

Just wanted to say that your Male pack is looking really great lostdaywalker.

The ears, Nope.  The earnings are ANK. I added them to another mod I did. Don't remember which one. I can add them to the set. Perhaps change the color so they match. The headband is from Argent armor. I re-textured it and it is part of the set along with the dwarven glasses.

I'll check out the helmet and see whats up with it.  You can get the Nero and Dante set form the Download section.Look for DMC.  Mega link is probably going down due to the name. I should of renamed it.
