SurpriseFatty Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 A few years ago I spent a depressing amount of time working on my characters facial geometry in Racemenu. I got a weirdly fitting custom armor set w/ body from someone on this site. It had bodyslide but it didnt really work right. There would be a gap in the neck when i put the armor on and when i took it off it'd close up like normal. So for a one-time screenshot set i edited the neck to fit the enlarged body. Being a poopy head I saved over the original instead of making a new one. Ever since then I've always had a neckseam. it's not really noticeable but I know it's there. Is there a way to reset just the neck portion to default? I don't think it's possible but I'd rather have this neckseam than resculpt the face. I know I'll never be able to get it seamless by hand. The head and the body are set to two different weights or the armour has not been built to the body in Bodyslide. If the gap is there on the naked body then it is the head/body weight issue. If it only appears when the armour is worn then it is the body/armour/Bodyslide one.

I basically need to reverse the edits I made when I have no edit history available. If I even had a way to numerically plot these vertices I'd do it.
Tlam99 Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 You can listen to mrknoweverythingbetter or give it a try. Body and face have different skins

It can be the body. If its the head, import it into Racemenu and clear the neck part. And export it again. You can PM the files if you want help
RW311 Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 I think if you post the head.nif for download and say what weight the body was set to last time it was exported someone could fix it. The neck vertices don't look that far off and maybe just a weight change and export/ import then smooth brush would do it.

They use different files but they are from the same skin texture mod. If you use the head textures from one mod and the body texture from a different mod you can get a 'neck seam' which is a colour mismatch where the body texture meets the head texture. There are other things which can can a neck seam but the OP has a neck gap.
Grey Cloud Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 8 hours ago, SurpriseFatty said: Do you have any ways to fix it? In game: Open console Click on PC/NPC Type setnpcweight 0 (or whatever the weight is) hit return and the face should go ugly type disable and hit return (the character will disappear) type enable and hit return (the character will reappear) Alternatively for the PC In racemenu make the body 100 weight import the head make the body the weight you want save the preset. They are from memory so you might have to fiddle about to get it right. If the RM way doesn't work then try importing a different head and then re-importing the head you want. There is also the brush method under the sculpt tab of RM as has already been mentioned.
blank_v Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 RaceMenu Clear Sculpt That should be first thing u do... even if u have correct body / head face nif may be wrong... RM have Sculpt editor... just clear what RM did... Spoiler rebuild everything in BodySlide and then try again with RM if BodySlide and RM can't help u just overwrite old meshes with new... or u can just fix that in Blender ( im learning it last few days xD ) or OutfitStudio ( cool way to fix neck xDD ) watch video... and it would be nice if u tell us what u were already trying... or u were not trying anything to fix ur problem ? xD u just came here to ask instead of trying to fix it by ur own ? cool...

I'm trying to avoid having to resculpt the face. Took me a long time and I fucked it up for some screenshots. I'm pretty sure the only way to really get it back to normal will be to resculpt it.

Watch video... use Sculpt mask and and reset mesh only for neck... You don't have to clear sculpt for whole face... just clear it for neck... as i show in vid.
