Sneaksmile Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Hello. Well ... My game was stable (I mean, no more CTDs) but yesterday I installed this Mod and my game went againg to the hell:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59721?tab=description A lot of textures and meshes are gone, and even some mods are not shown at all in the game, like this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18916 Even when I chose the necessary patch when installing the Mod of LOD. And all the textures and all the Mods that have disappeared in the game, they are (obviously) installed and activated. I get a message saying that the Mod has started successfully and is working fine ... but obviously it doesn't work right. And now I have CTDs in less than an hour. I installed that mod because guys in other Mod pages, keep saying it's the best Mod for the LOD. In my previous game I only installed this Mod and that was it, I never had any problems:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19446/? So ... has it happened to someone else? How is it fixed? Or is it better to uninstall the Mod permanently and use a less complicated Mod? Damn it ... why did I mess with this fucking thing?! Thanks if someone help me. ?
RW311 Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Dyndolod is not a plug and play mod. You must read many instructions for setting it up to generate new lods for the game and how to install any required extras you might need, for example the tree billboards or other static billboards if you have added new world space objects. It is not needed to run this if you haven't added new world objects and you can get ok distant lods without it anyway.

Well I think I should uninstall it, it's a pain in the butt (at least for me) I followed this tutorial: And I really don't care if the LOD looks so good. I just wanted animated waterfalls in the distance and ended up getting tangled up with that damn thing.

You know ... the only thing that I really liked about that Mod, were the lights of the cities or large buildings, in the distance. They look very good, as in High Hrothgar Or Whiterun: Do you know of a Mod that does the same but is not so complicated?
RW311 Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 I don't know of any but if you have time and patience you can get that result with dyndolod and still get decent peformance. I had really good lod way back with old setup and it took many tries to get where it wasn't a vram destroyer but I don't have the motivation to do it again. I imagine that forum is where the better advice is for how to set it my memory is a blur on that.
Grey Cloud Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 I found Dyndolod too much like hard work for what I wanted so I use this instead. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62698/

Although it doesn't matter anymore. I already uninstalled the Mod and there are no CTDs anymore. And all my lost textures and meshes came back. I will do what I did in my previous game. I will install only this, easy and simple. That's it. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19446/? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48227/

I imagine that forum is where the better advice is for how to set it my memory is a blur on that. The problem are the CTDs. And that I do not care so much about the LOD as to pay so much attention to it with such a complicated Mod. Following the installation video-tutorial is not complicated. But it seems that it is rather a very custom Mod. So ... I installed the Mod correctly (that's what the in-game message said), but I think it actually needs much more time invested, much more than the video and it is an hour long video. So ... nope ...
