Slaverun + Devious Devices Version Fix (DD 4.1 and later)

View File

I did not create this fix.

I just upload this as external file so ppl do not have to search the thread.

If you created this fix plz write me a PM.

How to use this:

If you are using newer DD Versions with Slaverun you can use this fix to get rid of some of the issues.
From my testing it still not fixes everything (some stuff is not recognized by Slaverun, with and without this fix).

Removes the error message that the DD version is not correct.

Installation:
Like any other mod.
Should overwrite Slaverun.

This is a WIP Upload, might add more details later.
I am working on a Slaverun Profile myself and will maybe upload more fixes, but it will take time because it has low priority for me :(

Imporant:
This mod does nothing on its own and contains no source files. So I dont even know for myself what exactly it does ^^

Please report any problems so we can probably make an FAQ:

Hi, I just wanted to report that with the new dd 5.0 beta, this fix doesn't work for me anymore.

Wanted to confirm the DD 4.3 scripts/zadxlibs.pex overwrite by this patch?

For now I can only suggest to keep the old DD 4.3 files at all cost to have future compatibility with Slaverun.

I dont know if a simple fix can make DD5 compatible with Slaverun in the future. The changes to the DD mods seem quite massive.

Thanks. So can I override dd 4.3 with 5.0 and keep them both without making a mess?

Also, I know almost nothing about programming, but wouldn't it be possible to make a fake version file and tell slaverun that's the file it is looking for?

no!
I hope you are using a Mod Organizer. Ideally Mod Organizer 2.
In any other case: make sure you are saving the original DD 4.3 files completly (ideally you download all installation files now from DDi, DDx and DDa and store them somewhere).

Then you make a profile for playing with Slaverun and DD 4.3 and one with DD 5 and without Slaverun ideally.
This is the only solution I can think of at the moment.

I believe this could work, but it will take some time till I get to the point where I can look into this.
Maybe someone else will make a fix before me in which case I will try to get permission to upload it here.

Of course.

Ah, ok. Then I'll just uninstall it until someone fixes the problem or the author magically comes back. ??

my pc does not get any dd from bellamy and pike.. does this fix fix that ?    (4.3)

not to my knowledge.  I noticed the same, but gave up on fixing stuff in Slaverun... :( I just add the DDs myself if needed.
