stormwolf442 Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 I have been trying for around two months to get my copy of sims 3 modded and have never been able to do it successfully. I am desperate enough right now to request that someone who is willing to help me out will PM me to discuss the possibility of them putting together a mod pack for me to drag and drop into the mods folder. I really hope someone who understands my extreme frustration right now will show some sympathy. like I said, if anyone is willing to help a fellow simmer out, shoot me a pm for an idea of what mods I am after

Since version/patch level isn't a total consideration just to mod (although some mods/Custom Content do require specific versions) we can just get to the good stuff. I'll simply post a few links with information critical to adding mods to the Sims 3. No reason for me to type out what has already been done. If, afterwards, you still have trouble we can break down the steps and find out where it's failing. Be sure to read everything as all information is vital although relatively simple. Creating a working mod folder: https://www.wikihow.com/Add-Mods-to-The-Sims-3 < Which includes: https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files IF you are familiar with using Windows/PC then much of this you'll already know, and can deviate somewhat (download file locations/etc.) While some mods like Worlds/Towns should still be installed as Sims3packs through the launcher, because of changes (and the ability to remove mods easily) you'll want to convert sims3packs into .package files and eventually learn how to merge groups of .packages together into single <merged> .packages for faster load times as you increase your mod library. There are 2 tools to merge packages: CCmagic, and S3PE (Sims 3 Package Editor). The choice is up to you. I personally use S3PE myself, probably because it was the first one I tried and if it ain't broke - don't fix it is one of my 'skillsets'. https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/03/tutorial-sims3packs-to-packages.html https://superoriginalsimsblog.blogspot.com/2016/01/tutorial-for-dummies-how-to-merge-cc.html < S3PE https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/04/tutorial-combine-package-files-to-reduce-lag.html < CCmagic http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUploadsRemote/uploads/1029/ Removing Sims3packs is a pain in the ass! but it can be done: Sims3 Launcher CC removal instructions.txt I wouldn't try removing Sims3packs until you are completely comfortable with everything else above, although if you followed my instruction to convert them to .packages, you'll likely never need to.... Check back and let us know how it goes. Mods are why I use this website, and why I've continued to play the Sims 3 for over 10 years.
