AwfulArchdemon Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Ok, I just recently relocated my Steam folder from default to C:\Games, and I wanted to use ZaZ animations. I could never get them to work, so I checked the thread and it says that the "XX" at the beginnig of the form ID is the load order in the Nexus MM, so I checked my NMM, but I get an error that says "unable to get write permission for: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim. Then it wants to rescan my Skyrim, but it can't find it. My NMM is in my [Games] folder, right above my Steam folder. How can I get NMM to find my game?
AwfulArchdemon Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 I assume you tried reinstalling NMM? Don't use NMM.......... It's a little too late to not use NMM, since hundreds of mods are already on it. I did not do the reinstall update thing the Nexus asked me to do, but that error is still showing up. I have a grudge with Nexus now. GO LL!! What do you think is my best option? Abandoning NMM would be like starting over (again). Hours of finding all the mods I use. I don't rely solely on NMM, but it is far too useful to abandon when you know what mistakes it makes, and how to correct them quickly. Am I out of luck, or can I make this thing recognize my Skyrim again? ps. I know why you say don't use NMM Arc of Truth, but I didn't even know about LL until a couple months ago, so I didn't have proper practice at installing mods manually. I have only used a computer for 5 months... total. Never even Googled something before then. Already half-way through making a quest mod though! Can type in Japanese... okay, I'm rambling, but I'll be posting a mod on the Lab soon, after my training, so I thought I'd mention that.
polluxval Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I dont have NMM installed in my steam folder and everything seems to be working fine. try searching for this: C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim\Install Info and delete all content (make baccup copies) and try again.
AwfulArchdemon Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 Ok, I managed to get the NMM working through a bunch of file relocating, and my mods are all active, but you'd never know it if you saw my NMM. NO MODS ARE IN THAT B*&%@!! So I was wondering if there is a quick way to put them all back in, instead of this 1 at a time crap. I got too many mods to be reinstalling and activating individual mods. Thanks.
Rayblue Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 If using Windows 7 (I use the 64-bit version), this directory contains the load order, plugins list, and other information:C:\Users\<account name>\appdata\Local\Skyrim Also, registry entries used by Skyrim: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim] "Installed Path"="c:\\Program Files (x86)\\Bethesda\\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\\" Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim] "Installed Path"="c:\\Program Files (x86)\\Bethesda\\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\\"

Really, the only reason I wanna use the NMM is to easily deactivate Children of the Sky (and Breezehome Children) at will, because from what I can tell, there is no easy way to deactivate that mod, and you can't load saves that use Imperial, Redgaurd, etc. with C of the S active, or you will look really wierd and deformed. And before you say "Use one race at a time!"... NO! I should be able to use Redgaurd for a couple days and switch to C of the S for a couple. Thanks for the replies, guys. I hate needing this rediculous NMM (piece of s***!), but it is what it is.
