DavidWillers Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I have a lot of animations and after running Fnis I noticed that my game keeps crashing. So I checked the files and figured out that it only happens when I have all my hkx behavior files running. I need to delete some of them until I have deleted about 800 KB of data. I usually delte the "shout_behavior.hkx" file and the "blockbehavior.hkx" file. They are each about 400 KB of data size. I never had this problem before and now I am wondering why that happens? And also what are those files used for? And what happens when I just delete them as I did ( I didn't really notice any issues)?

FNis (not FNIS xxl) does not show the ctd probability. too many animations make the game crash without crashfix, animation load limit fix etc. You will find all thos reference links here in posts concerning ctd's. just deleting the behaviour files is not a good idea, as they will be generated again by each fnis run. deactivate the mods containing this files and run fnis again, then this animations will not appear.

It is the particular version of either which matters. 7 hours ago, T-lam said: just deleting the behaviour files is not a good idea, To put it mildly. 7 hours ago, DavidWillers said: And what happens when I just delete them as I did Deleting any file when you have no idea what it is is a recipe for disaster. 7 hours ago, DavidWillers said: I need to delete some of them until I have deleted about 800 KB of data. Why do you think this? Have you any idea how small 800k is in terms of some of the files used by Skyrim or anything else for that matter? 7 hours ago, DavidWillers said: I have a lot of animations and after running Fnis I noticed that my game keeps crashing. At what point does the game crash? On game load? In game? Does it crash at the same point or the same place? 7 hours ago, DavidWillers said: So I checked the files and figured out that it only happens when I have all my hkx behavior files running. Checked where? The hkx files don't run as such. As has already been said, they are animation files so they are only used during a particular animation.

My game chrashes as soon as I try to load into it with less then 800kb deleted, and it doesn't matter where or which save/ new game. I just simply went thorugh the folders FNIS XXL generated to see what causes the issue (like deleting some parts, launching the game, until I was certain which exact files cause the crash.) And yea I know that you should'nt delete random files, but that was the only solution which actually helped.

It hasn't helped at all. What is has done is convince you of something when the problem lies elsewhere. 1 hour ago, DavidWillers said: My game chrashes as soon as I try to load into it with less then 800kb deleted, If you mean your game crashes when you try to launch it then it is usually one of two things which cause this. First is a missing master (or masters). Second is too many character animations for your particular Skyrim installation. The second is no longer a problem thanks to: https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/11208-animation-limit-crash-fix/ That's the LE version. My advice would be to uninstall all your animation packs and FNIS then reinstall FNIS and one or two of your animation packs. This will a: get you a clean install of FNIS and b: allow you to confirm that your game will actually launch. Once you have the game working then add one or two more animation packs until it starts crashing again. Then install the above mod/fix.
