TQWorld Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Hi all, Hoping you can assist with an oddball issue. Maybe it's not so oddball for those who understand better than I do. Decided to add Strange Runes and Net Script Framework. Following the instructions on requirements, I went through all of the steps as directed. Launched the game, Net Script was running and I was able to use the Strange Runes mod. All went well until I fast traveled. CTD as soon as the new location was about to load. I checked the Net Script log and it had this: Unhandled native exception occurred at 0x7FF78ECA4406 (SkyrimSE.exe+194406) on thread 15584! So, I began removing new additions, one by one, to find the culprit. I received the same message as above each time it crashed although the thread number was different each time. I found the new binkw64.dll was causing my CTD. I deleted the newly downloaded binkw64.dll and put my original binkw64.dll back. No longer receiving CTD but now Net Script isn't working. So far, I've tried 3 copies of binkw64.dll: My original from 2018 (no idea where I originally got it) The DLL Plugin mod on Nexus Dll-files.com Each is a different file size and the old one and the one from dll-files.com do not cause CTD but Net Script does not work when using it. The one from Nexus does allow Net Script to work but causes CTD. I posted on the Nexus forum of that specific mod, but no response (to be fair, I only posted a few days ago). I was hoping someone here might be able to offer some insight. Any helpful input is appreciated, thanks!

Did you follow the install instructions?
TQWorld Posted August 3, 2020 Author Posted August 3, 2020 Yep. As I said, game works fine with 2 of the dlls but CTD from the one provided on Nexus. The instructions for the DLL from Nexus are pretty simple. Rename the old, copy theirs to the Skyrim base installation folder. Not much to it. My original was most likely from another mod...no clue where it originated.
Just Don't Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 This dll comes with the game when you install it through Steam. I've read several comments about people having CTDs related to this dll or Net Script Framework, one user in particular said the new version of Net Script F. doesn't require the DLL plugin loader, so it might be worth checking that (I think that user linked a github release, not sure if that's more recent than the one in the Nexus). I can't comment further here as I haven't experience this issue (I have the plugin loader + Net Script framework working just fine in my current install).
TQWorld Posted August 3, 2020 Author Posted August 3, 2020 Thanks for the responses. I'll read through the mod page again. As a test, since yours is a confirmed working copy of all files, would you mind sharing your copier of this dill and NSF? If not, not biggie.
