I Can't Get SexLabs to work

Recommended Posts

So, I finally decided to try out SexLabs. Currently I have SexLab Framework and SexLab Romance installed. I've tried adding various other SexLabs mods, but no matter what I do, I'm able to ask NPCs for sex and tell them what I want to do, but then they just stare at me til I close the conversation then they walk away. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I figured that I would need other mods besides framework and romance, but I can't seem to find anything that actually allows me to do anything sexual.

Did you run GenerateFNISforUsers? if so, any warnings there? is it reading Sexlab and your other mods properly?

Did you went to the Sexlab MCM and install it in game?

That's the bare minimum to check apart from requirements (skse, skyui, etc.).

I did run GenerateFNISforUsers, all it said was creature pack not installed. How do I do the MCM?

You... go into the System menu (Esc?) and select MCM or Mod Configuration, can't remember the name. There you'll see a Sexlab menu, open it and click in the Install line. You'll have to exit the menu and wait for a while. You'll see some messages in the top-left corner of the screen, when you see a message saying the install is ready you can proceed to test the animations using the dialogue from SL Romance.

Ohh, yeah. After I replied to your first comment I loaded up my game and went to the settings and saw the Mod Config tab. SexLabs was there, but when I click on it, nothing appears

Cool. Thing is I can believe in what you say, but you're sharing no details about your mod manager/game. Can you copy&paste the FNIS text, a screenshot of your mods in Vortex, your game version, etc. Something like that could really help to pinpoint the issue.

Unrelated to the MCM not showing you the settings (or at least the install line), but you should make the habit of reading stuff labeled as warning and following the info these warnings contain. Enable the first/second? patch in FNIS (patches are listed below the button you usually use when running FNIS, arm fix is one of the firsts listed there).

How does it look the Sexlab MCM? I don't see anything out of the ordinary in your mods (although I don't use Vortex so I might be ignoring some details).

So I opened "Configure FNIS", which opens a list of patches:

As you can see, I tried both of the ones at the top (separately, only because I wasn't sure which to try) but whether I pick one of those or both, running the FNIS generator still shows that warning.

And here's what it looks like when I click on "SexLabs" in MCM in-game:

Actually nevermind on the FNIS thing. I noticed that when I run the generator, there's actually a thing directly on there where I could select skeleton arm fix, and that fixed it.

Yeah, second patch in the first screenshot (that window is from Vortex, the one you see if you run the executable is different, but the end result is the same).

That empty MCM is still a mystery tho. Are you starting the game with SKSE, right? (not sure if this is done automatically in Vortex). That's the only thing that comes to mind now. Was this in a new game or an existing game with another SL version?

I actually had issues in the past with running Skyrim SE and SKSE not running. I figured out that I have to run Skyrim through Vortex, so now I do know how to actually run SKSE. I have been trying this on an existing game, but I will start a new one right now and see if it works then.

Ohh yeah I see. I did that, and it worked. Sadly still won't work on my other game, but I'm glad I at least got it working on the new one! Thank you!!

That's cool. Weird the MCM isn't working in your other save, perhaps you started the game without SKSE at some point? that's a possible reason for the MCM to not work as intended? not sure as doing that is very very low in my list of things to do, aka I've never done that.

If it was a save game that you don't want to lose, you could try removing/disabling Sexlab and every mod that requires it from Vortex, load that save (it will warn you about missing plugins, accept and see if you can go in game with that save). If the save loads, make a new save and exit the game, enable all the Sexlab related mods again and try to load the last save you made. This time the MCM should be working, and the in game install should be completed without issues. Just keep the old saves in case it doesn't work (as long as all the mods are enabled as before it should load without issue, but the MCM still will be broken).
