aspiration and trait modding?

So i haven't modded before but wanted to try making some custom aspiration tracks ...

What sort of programs/software do people use?

I tried noodling around a bit with zerbu's mod constructor but can't find/figure out much of what I need. The categories seem to deal with base game stuff and I want to have aspirations related to other mods, for instance with Basemental's drugs, WickedWhims (for instance for teen sex) etc.

Any suggestions what to use?

I know absolutely nothing about coding so it would need to be some kind of program...

You'd likely need to learn a bit of Python. There's an option to add custom xml files to your project, but you'd need to know what lines of code to add and when/how to call them, and set conditions for them. I've only messed with base game scripts to add aspirations with conditions the game already has. I haven't actually created any custom ones or linked to animations or traits from another mod.

 

If you don't intend to learn the needed Python stuff you'd need to know, your best bet would likely be to just ask the mod authors for help adding stuff from specific mods. Also, you could probably learn what you need to know by extracting xml's from the mods you want to link to in your aspiration conditions.
