Enhanced Character Edit Failed Plugin Error

Mod Organizer 2 Script extender log reports incompatible plugins -

 

The failed plugins are:
  • ExCharGen plugin version 46 (characterMakingExtender_64_1_5_53.dll, Enhanced Character Edit) reported as incompatible during query.
  • ExCharGen plugin version 46 (characterMakingExtender_64_1_5_62.dll, Enhanced Character Edit) reported as incompatible during query.
  • ExCharGen plugin version 46 (characterMakingExtender_64_1_5_73.dll, Enhanced Character Edit) reported as incompatible during query.
  • ExCharGen plugin version 46 (characterMakingExtender_64_1_5_80.dll, Enhanced Character Edit) reported as incompatible during query.

 

Just installed the latest version of ECE 1.59 (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12302/?tab=files&topic_id=6436166).

 

 

Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

That mod comes packed with several dll files for different SKSE versions. The installer has no setting to pick this, so it will shove all these dlls in the final install, install instructions also make no mention of this. These things are really bad for a mod...

 

To fix this (not sure if this is making your game crash or it's just showing you the warning) double click in ECE in MO's left panel.

Go to the Filetree tab.

Expand SKSE > Plugins.

Delete all the dll files there except for the one compatible with your Skyrim SE version (if you're using the latest SE/SKSE version that should be the 1_5_97 file).

I have the same problem. And I just installed ECE
