Mister X Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 Heyho, I've got a plugin which depends on the old Unofficial Legendary Patch. I think after SE came up there was a possibility to port the dependency to the Unofficial Special Edition Patch. Does someone know how to do it?
y_sengaku Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 First, You have to run SSEedit with -IKnowWhatImDoing -AllowMasterFilesEdit for its ver 4 (ver 3 did not require these additional command lines). Then, you have to copy and rename Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp to Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp (as a separate mod). 99+% of the data of the .esp file of USSEP.is identical with that of USLEEP, so you can use this renamed .esp file as a kind of provisional 'dummy' USSEP file to enable conversion & editing with relative ease. [Optional?] Load your favorite LE mod's .esp file together with this renamed USSEP-USLEEP.esp in SSE CK, and re-save it to convert Form 43 to 44. Some people argues it unnecessary or even harmful to convert in CK, but I suppose it is at least safe to convert the file in CK in most cases.. If conversion process breaks the .esp file, it means that either the original mod's .esp file or scripts must be potentially problematic. Lord the converted.esp together with both the renamed USSEP-USLEEP.esp (2) and the original USSEP's .esp in SSEedit , and then, overwrite 'Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition patch.esp' master record in the converted .esp file with 'Skyrim Unofficial Special Edition Patch.esp' and save it. Be also sure to optimize the mesh/ texture in the original mod package with help of Cathedral Assets Optimizer as well.

I've loaded USSEP, USLEEP and my .esp file into SSEEdit with the Arguments, what then? "Right-click >> Edit" the Master Files entry in my esp and just rename it from Legendary to Special patch? Or do I have to do more?

It will switch the master dependency of the mod file from USLEEP to USSEP and formIDs of these files are almost identical, so just to rename will work. You can check the error in SSEEdit after (4).
