NS2249 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I was just wondering...how in the world am I supposed to use it? Because I'm pretty positive I'm using it wrong right now. As far as I can see, you can only select one animation at a time, on the left, to add to the right so it can be merged. And then you can only do the same on the right, only selecting one at a time to merge. My problem is that merging appears to really do nothing. For instance, if I were to merge animation 100, all the files will appear in the merged folder. If I then merge 101, however, the 100 files go away and only the 101 files are left. So...I was wondering. Is replacing going on, or are they truly merged together?
Ark of Truth Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Read the readme. It's all explained in there.
NS2249 Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Uh. No. It is not. The dsaReadme.txt file in the Daedra Sutra Assistant zip doesn't say what it does, or how it works. All it tells you is how to install it, its license, and the changelog. That's pretty much it. And the main Daedra Sutra readme doesn't mention exactly what it does either, just saying it's to add and remove animations from Oblivion.
gregathit Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Select all the animations you want on the left FIRST, then hit the merge button. NOTE: You can't select 193.1 and 193 at the same time. It will only take one number regardless of the .1 or .2 at a time. For me selecting anything on the right doesn't do anything.
NS2249 Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Thanks for the help, though...still leaves me with questions. I double clicked all the stuff I want to add, they're all on the right. I clear the merged folder first, to make sure nothing extraneous is in there, then click the merge button. All I end up with are the kf files for animations 100 to 103 in the merged folder, now, when I have far more than that. And am I supposed to be unable to select more than one animation on the left at a time? EDIT: I've read around, and...apparently you are supposed to be able to select more than one at a time, at least on the left side. I cannot. If I click on an animation, then shift click on a lower one, only the one I just clicked on is selected, not all the ones in between. If I ctrl click, only the animation I just clicked on is added. And I can't click and drag to select multiple animations since there's no edge, so to speak, for the click and drag to begin at.
gregathit Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 You can't select more than one animation on the left at a time. There is no need to hold the ctrl or shift key as there is no support for it. Just double click on the animations on the left side, one at a time and they will be added to the right side. Don't click the clear folder as that "could" screw things up. This is a pretty fragile program so if things seem stuck then close and restart it. One bug that is known is that any animation that has an idle object folder won't properly transfer. Those animations you need to do by hand. Thus avoid double clicking on any animation that has a table\chair\book case\pillory or any other object in it.
GECK.O Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 May be that because the files you selected are from the LoversMotionsNT, which is not included because of the MotionsNT license issue. There's a txt file in the merge folder, and a download link inside. Just write it down the number of the animations you like and extract it from MontionsNT to the data folder. The ini and kf files. But I'm suggesting to copy all the animations, all of them are great.
Nite_Star Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 How many of the animation files on the left can be put over to the right, and will play.. I know what 2.0 through to 2.3 does and it will only select one of those.
sigtrinature Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 If you have different types of animations for one position you have to choose one of them, you cant have for example 2 and 2.1 and 2.2, only one of these three.
