RAGE?

So I recently played RAGE (bought it on a Steam sale back around Christmas, but it quickly got lost in backlog) and just before finishing it, I saw the news that the mod tools have FINALLY been released.  However, according to the news article, the mod tools aren't exactly "user-friendly," but I've seen some serious talent on this site.

 

Anyway, the point of the thread is: Is there any real interest in RAGE, as far as modding?  Hell, I'd be happy just to get a decent-looking female PC to look at in the few third-person parts (mostly the ATV, so not much), or some third-person option to make that a thing.  Nude mods would probably be a thing for the few female NPCs hanging around, especially the store owner in Subway Town.  And since it's at least published by Bethesda, is there a chance that it can be torn apart and put back together into something entirely new and amazing, like Oblivion and New Vegas have on this site?  I have no idea how the modding works, or how "flexible" RAGE would be compared to Oblivion, etc.  But it looks pretty, and if there was a chance to have a hot female PC who could get raped by the various baddies when they close in like I get to see in Oblivion and New Vegas, then I'd definitely re-install it for another playthrough.

 

So feel free to enlighten me with "nobody cares about RAGE" or "you idiot, you can't mod it that much," etc.  Just curious, and I've had some pretty helpful responses in the past, so I figured this was the place to ask. Thanks!

Is not that no body cares for RAGE. The problem is that the game has an IMMENSE number of bugs, incompatibility, low fps, ctds and problems by itself alone, even with official patches.

But I have to agree, I still hope someone bring us some mods. I'll glady replay it to try them out.

Eh? Maybe on AMD graphics hardware. I never had one single bug, crash, visual error, anything. Not even one. I did literally everything, too, and screwed around quite a bit besides. I think I had about thirty hours into it when I finished it.

 

I'd like to see some RAGE mods too! I'm really fond of the game.

as always, what works for someone doesn always works for everyone. check the steam and many other forums. its on of the most tech issue games so far. anyway, after checking the mod tools are pretty good. it should be little time some people make mods, the game has a lot of mod potential.

Bought it but never played it myself. It all makes me giggly inside and intoxicated with euphoria if someone were to release a mod for this game. So long Skyrim~~~

I honestly was a bit surprised seeing new DLC for RAGE show up on Steam, I thought "Are people actually still playing this?" "Do people actually care?". Getting in on console, I didn't experience the problems PC players encountered, BUT I felt that the game didn't have much to it it terms of a campaign. it had the whole Authority thing going on, then suddenly cut that short and ended the game. I feel it may be a bit too late for a modding program, but who knows what those that could be bothered could come up with....

never had any problems playing rage before... i hope the new radeon (amd) video card doesnt cause issues.

 

i would love to see mods for rage, that would be epic.

 

what i would like first off would of course be nude mods, then more armor/gun types... upgrades to portable assist items like the gun turret (someone made a rocket turret, using the same gun turret model) spider bot and RC C4 bomb stuff.

 

plus of course more open areas, more factions and towns...

 

not asking for much here lol.

 

 

 

what i want to know is if anyone has been able to use the idtools kit or look at em at all... (i currently dont own rage) i would like to be able to mess around with the stuff to see how it compares to other mod tools/engines as well as trying to add/change stuff.

A Joburg-/RaperS-like mod for RAGE would come in handy!

 

But of course, the basic has priority over such mods. Basic as in nude females plus nude males with their erect penis.

 

Suggested adult mod making priority:

0: Nude characters mod;

1: Basic rape during (lost) battle mod;

1.1: A "stalking" mod(preferably à la Sexout Tryout(which isn't exactly stalking in the strictest sense)) not as unrealistic as LoversJoburg;

2: Adequate implementation of rape in the storyline;

3: Adequate implementation of consensual sex in the storyline;

10: Additional sexual content(mainly in the form of "quests") possibly unrelated to the lore and storyline.

i would like to see dating stuff and possible marriage stuff too... plus maybe some kind of mod that ads children to the game, because its just odd not having them around somewhere.

would also like to see added quests for helping to expand each of the towns/settlements, something that would maybe include opening that gambling/casino shop place in welspring, buying/upgrading a house or home (1-3 or so choices for each town/settlment maybe) opening all the areas that have doors for each town to the appartment/houses or whatever.

 

could also get rid of the invisible walls, make more natural barriers... expand the areas plus making more routes between towns/settlements etc.

expanding the smash tv quests and add new areas and options to the 'game' show.

 

finding and helping other ark survivors before the other guys can get to em and kill em etc....

 

and yes the adult mods have to come first

i might be able to help with meshes, or use ones from skyrim or something maybe... but someone else would have to upgrade the textures for rage usage.

I looked up some of these things, and I believe that a large number of rage bugs were bugs in the drivers for various cards.

 

It's totally valid to call these rage incompatibilities. But maybe this is not really an immense number of bugs in rage itself?

 

(But I also remember trying to play it, and I thought it was a boring game. And I do not like driving games.)

Thanks for the responses, guys!  Glad to see I was wrong in my assumption.  I know all of the focus of the adult modding community is on Skyrim right now until we get a good, stable animation platform, but maybe somebody will put some work into RAGE.  I'd definitely play it again with fun sex mods.  Would make getting charged by bandits/mutants all the more harrowing.

never had issues with nvidia card (even if it wasnt made for gaming)...

 

also, if the plan was to update the game itself using current video card drivers etc., someone could fix the few 'glitches' from the game... at the same time learning more about idtools for modding rage etc.

Guys, I LOVE Rage.  It's honestly one of the best "different-in-a-good-way" FPS games I've played in a LONG time.  Sub-par ending aside, the enemy A.I. is exciting and the action feels smart.  That said, I'd love to see some adult mods for RAGE... UNFORTUNATELY it seems that the modding tools for RAGE don't really work :/  They really just stalls when you try and load a level in the toolset.
