DocClox Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 Question for you all: We have an old Wii + Balance Board & Wii Fit running on it. Now my wife, mindful of all this social distancing and such, is keen to get this working again. But of course, the wiimote batteries are shagged, and even if we can buy new ones, they've stopped making them, so anything we do buy is going to be 10 years old and also likely knackered. So: what's the best approach here? I'd be willing to buy a new console if need be, but preferably one that ran Wii Fit and could talk to the balance board. (We may need to buy a new one of those too, but I strive to remain optimistic). Any ideas?
bearlyAlive Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 Best course of action would be to buy a working Wii, you should be able to get a used one fairly easily. Alternatively you could get a WiiU that can still run Wii games and works with the Fit Board. However you still need Wii Remotes to play the old Wii games. If you're OK with ditching WiiFit altogether, you could buy a Switch and Ring Fit adventure. A bit more gamified than WiiFit but includes exercises for the arms in a form not possible with the Wii's Remote+Nunchucks.

The Wii works fine, so far as I can tell. It boots up, and the wiimotes even work, so long as the charging cable isn't removed. The problem seems to be the batteries. 5 minutes ago, bearlyAlive said: If you're OK with ditching WiiFit altogether, you could buy a Switch and Ring Fit adventure.
