Im trying to install bodygen from racemenu with mo2 but i have no idea how to do it or where to drop the files since it uses virtual folders there is no place to drop the ini files, i had no problem intalling this with vortex tho. Any idea how to do it with MO2 its a nightmare... thanks in advance! I have followed every step from jBS2BG - BodySlide to BodyGen Converter and Generator and yes it work perfect, but when i use vortex, since i moved to MO2 i have no idea where to drop this files (inis) or what to do.

Yes, MO2 uses a virtual folder system. No, it's not a nightmare.

The folder structure of MO2 is quite simple really. The following applies to a portable instance.

  • Mod Organizer 2\mods\ --> here you'll find all the installed mods in separate folders, named after the mod or the name you gave it during install.
    • Example: Mod Organizer 2\mods\SkyUI\... --> here you'll find all the mod files for SkyUI.
      • This folder named after the mod takes the place of your actual Data folder (under "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data"). So every file that would normally go in Data should be directly under said folder, in this example "SkyUI".

The virtual part is just present once you start the game.

And that's it, so let's say you want to install (or create) some mod using bodygen, well that guide you talk about mentions two folder paths for the ini files

  • "Data\meshes\actors\character\BodyGenData\Skyrim.esm\templates.ini"
  • "Data\meshes\actors\character\BodyGenData\Skyrim.esm\morphs.ini"

All you have to do is replicate that folder structure replacing "Data" with "Mod Organizer 2\mods\..." and the name of the mod you're installing or creating. For example

  • Mod Organizer 2\mods\amazing-Bodygen-mod\meshes\actors\character\BodyGenData\Skyrim.esm\... [ini files go here]

Vortex does a similar thing, but you're clueless about the process and so the nightmare is there, just that you have no idea it's even there. And Familiar bodies (one of the few results on Nexus for "bodygen") would be a 3-4 clicks install in MO2, it already has the folder structure, but it has an additional "Data" folder in the zipped file (which is fixed by selecting Manual install and doing right click on that Data folder and pressing "Set data directory", that's it, and this is even part of the tutorial that comes with MO2, not that I think it's that great but hey, it's something, besides all the videos and written guides people have made for MO2 in the past few years, and I'm writting too much here this was meant to be a short comment damn it).
