[Request/Ask for Help] Need help to weightpaint neck gap

Hi, after building a new body with bodyslide I noticed that some female NPCs have the neck gap when nude. I couldn't close it with setnpcweight. Even with a weight of 1 or 0 a little gap remains. The NPCs are from the vanilla races and skeleton. I can fix the gap with bodyweight on the player but not on NPCs. What else can I do?

It hits vanilla citizens, modded followers, vanilla bandits and others.

And why does the gap sometimes happens when I alter the body in bodyslide and sometimes not?

I heard it can be fixed with nifskope but I have no experience with it. So could somebody take a look at my mesh files and fix the problem?

Paint the neck vertices with a weightpaint tool to 1.0 value in any 3D app supporting Nif extension, your mesh model has a 0.9x value in skin instance (spine2) around the neck. That is the only reason no proper morphing is going with weight slider.

Never done that. What tools would you recommend?

Do you have a working download link for nifskope? All I tried are deleted or get timeouts all the time.

Hmm, If you have no experience in it, I recommend to not touch it at all. Ask this as a request on Skyrim forum, providing the attached mesh file, a picture and describe this exact issue. "Need help to weightpaint  vertices on neck to close the neck gap". Someone will eventually help you out.

Nifskope is available at https://github.com/jonwd7/nifskope/releases/tag/v2.0.dev8

Yes this bone.

Now looking at the picture I have a doubt if its the body itself and not the head part. if it is the basic CBBE mesh from bodyslide this issue would bug absolutely everybody else.

Did you do something relevant to female head lately ?

You can try to fix the body by downloading Caliente bodyslide mod again from nexus and overwrite the old folder.

It is the femalebody_1.nif file is the picture and I use UUNP. When I overwrite it wouldn't I loose the bodyslide meshes and have to use bodyslide again and get the problem again?

I don't think I ever touched the head. I just changed the breastsize with bodyslide and build Devious Devices and some armors again.

A reinstall didn't help. The problem stays. This are my bodyslide settings maybe you can find the problem

I could look into it in 3d max when I have free time.
So its a uunp body, had some of them with same issue exactly in unp family meshes.

You need to post here the original nif file from ShapeData folder. When you will make a bodyslide shape again, from unedited original nif file, this gap will still be there by default.

Search your body mesh by name (shape name is in BS  - outfit/body tab  ) in that folder and attach body nif here.

I tried a premade body preset and there is no gap anymore or maybe just a minimal line. So some slider in my selfmade preset must cause it.

Is it possible to show the head in the bodyslide preview?

Preset was not saved with any group data for uunp and I cannot get it to fix the kneck seam issue even when I do save it with all groups? I can build with dream girl slider 0 and kneck seam still remains so it's a mystery to me what happened here. I would recommend write down your slider values and start from scratch and when you press save as make sure you select all groups in the list most important is the uunp groups because it only had hdt group and may have lost some important slider data when done that way.

So basically I messed one of the sliders up and have to find out which one? And I haven't done naything with the groups and the group filter is empty. No groups are marked.  Didn't know what to do with them ^^

You need to assign groups so the preset shows up for more than just uunphdt but I don't think that is what is wrong have to ask the bodyslide devs, like I said I tried saving with groups added but it was still broken and i tried messing with slider values and it still had the neck problem.

Spoiler

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<SliderPresets><Preset set="Unified UNP HDT" name="Test"><SetSlider name="BreastCleavage" value="13" size="big"/><SetSlider name="BreastCleavage" value="37" size="small"/><SetSlider name="BreastFlatness" value="2" size="small"/><SetSlider name="BreastGravity" value="39" size="big"/><SetSlider name="BreastGravity" value="28" size="small"/><SetSlider name="BreastHeight" value="32" size="big"/><SetSlider name="BreastHeight" value="39" size="small"/><SetSlider name="BreastPerkiness" value="20" size="big"/><SetSlider name="BreastPerkiness" value="58" size="small"/><SetSlider name="BreastsFantasy" value="49" size="big"/><SetSlider name="BreastsFantasy" value="55" size="small"/><SetSlider name="BreastsSmall" value="99" size="big"/><SetSlider name="BreastsSmall" value="60" size="small"/><SetSlider name="DoubleMelon" value="67" size="big"/><SetSlider name="DoubleMelon" value="37" size="small"/><SetSlider name="Dream Girl High" value="100" size="big"/><SetSlider name="Dream Girl High" value="100" size="small"/><SetSlider name="Neck" value="0" size="small"/><SetSlider name="NippleDistance" value="58" size="big"/></Preset></SliderPresets>

There is nothing I see wrong here with any slider info, other than no groups to build the preset with, looking at the output mesh I can't find anything obvious wrong with it but the head will not  morph correctly to this preset so I don't know unless it has to do with using the dream girl slider but I tried without and same problem.

I know some preset sliders deform neck more or less, guess it depends on bsd file of a pre-made preset.

Yes and dreamgirl changes the neck area quite a bit so I kind of suspect something with using that as a base to create a custom preset. Probably try messing with it later and see if I can recreate the problem to see if just adjusting one of the sliders xyz used is what caused this.
