rosie_chim Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 So, when I downloaded the new update for Nisa's Wicked Perversions and opened the Sims 4, my tam explorer and escort option disappeared? Has anyone else had this issue or does anyone have a solution for this?
Crashdown117 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Tam Explorer not showing up often is a sign of using the mod with an incompatible game version - either outdated or Legacy Edition. If you're playing Legacy, remove the mod as it doesn't work with Legacy. Otherwise just update your game.
rosie_chim Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 I know I don't have legacy so I went to try and update my game (like you suggested) and it says it's updated and I've already tried uninstalling and re-installing the mods yesterday to see if that was the issue so I don't know if it's my computer issue or it's because I have way too many animations or mods in my game... I apologize, I'm still sort of new using the wickedwhims and nisa's wicked perversions mods.
Crashdown117 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 No need to apologize, everyone here once had that "first day of modding, don't know nothing" experience. Took me a whole week to get a basic understanding of how mods for TS4 work and why they sometimes do not - and even today I sometimes have to resort to trial and error methods. Now, for fixing your issue (hopefully): Move all files from your Mods folder ("Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods") to another location on your computer (like a folder on your Desktop). Delete "localthumbcache.package" found in "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4". Start the game (without any mods installed atm), go into the settings and enable both "custom content and mods" and "script mods" in the section called "Other". Btw, you have to do this after every game update. Close the game. Put the files for WickedWhims, Nisa's Wicked Pervs and Basemental Drugs (required for some features of Wicked Pervs) into your Mods folder. Ideally, they should all be in their seperate folder, so you should have four folders in total - one for WW, one for WW's animations (they don't go into WW's own folder), one for BMD and one for WickedPervs. Also make sure that no files are more than one subfolder deep - "Mods/WW" works, "Mods/Sex/WW" does not. Delete "localthumbcache. package" again. It's generally recommended to do this every time you make changes to your Mods folder. Start the game again, make sure all mods and CC are still enabled in the settings, and load your save. You should now be able to use the Tam Explorer from any computer in-game. Once everything is working, you can add your other mods back in, if you have any. Move a few files into Mods, delete "localthumbcache" and start the game. If any issues pop up, they're caused by one of the files you just added - so better add them in small bunches, because finding the culprit among ten files is much easier then finding it among a hundred. Mods causing trouble need to be updated or removed from your Mods folder. If you have a lot of mods, this part can be a bit tedious, since you have to test all of them, even after you found one that was causing issues.
rosie_chim Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 Spent the whole morning doing this and it turns out that this was the issue - had to take out a few buggy files and then re-install everything. Shows up now and everything! I appreciate the help! ??
