My international experience was 'Yanks' 'Yankees', etc, were generic terms for Americans, as historically the term references Americans.

As for the term 'brits' which kremlin claims to be a slur, it falls (once again, in my international travel experince) in with 'yanks' 'Aussies' 'Canuks', etc, as generic dimunitives to refer to people from the US, Australia, and Canada.

And they are never really considered offenseve, indeed there is a Canadian hockey team named the Canucks.

Also to repudiate Kremlins historical revision in his attempt to CREATE Issues for moderation:

The British Phonographic Industry's annual pop music awards are called the Brit Awards.

Even Wikipedia logs it as an informal term.

So yeah, lets end the false outrage people.

Don't know how many times I can explain the issue here isn't with the term "Brit" being used, but OK, you want to keep pushing it. Fine by me.

I was going to leave this thread alone after my last post, but it seems in your eagerness to point out what you perceive as reasons for moderation, you've actually given me quite a concrete one. You know, not letting things go, calling out a moderator, inflaming a thread needlessly. So that's a 1 point warning, which unfortunately for you, adds up to those extra nine you've already got and makes for a nice round ten. Ten points means a temporary ban, so maybe that will give you some time to cool off.

Hopefully when you come back you'll learn to leave things be.

Never heard of Pom?

Short for Prisoner of Mother England.  Us Kiwi's and Aussies always call british people Poms... especially during rugby season...

ESPECIALLY during rugby season.
