mizikage Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 So here's the problem I have Norton security and whenever I start playing Sims 4 Norton pops up an says data protection blocked a suspicious action by TS4_x64.exe. so I look the details and it say high risk. Along with TS4_x64.exe path and it's target. But here's the wierd thing. On the reason section says that TS4_x64.exe tried to delete a folder in the game, but it's time the target folder is different. For instance. One time says that the path target is a folder in the scratch folder. Another time when I open Norton , is the onlinethumbnailimage folder. And the third time I opened its the cache folder. So my question is. Is it a virus, spyware, or malware ?
Crashdown117 Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Everything is fine with TS4, but you can have Origin repair your install, if you want to be 1000% safe. Thing is, TS4 does stuff within your Documents folder (saving the game/screenshots/videos, loading mods etc) and some security software (like Norton or Bitdefender, for example) don't like that - not because the game is up to something, but simply because it accesses this specific folder (which is a bs reason in my eyes). Now, I don't like Norton (for this particular reason and some others, too), but you don't have to use another security software or anything - you just need to whitelist TS4 (tell Norton that the game's not evil). I don't know how to do that, but if you google something like "norton whitelist application" you should find some helpful information, maybe even from the Norton homepage itself.
