TheDaedricDoll Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Apologies if this isn't the proper forum for me to post this in. Anyway, I made a crop top mesh in Marvelous Designer and I'm having a hell of a time properly weighting it. Even using references of somewhat similar meshes gets it looking like this: Spoiler Here's what it looks like in Outfit Studio: Spoiler My boyfriend, who has experience in making and weighting mashups, tried his hand at weighting it but is stumped on how to fix this weird clipping-like issue with the sleeves. If anyone could give advice or guidance that would be fantastic. I can post the .nif file if need be.
Ragita Anastasya Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Can you show the clipping with a short video? or gif?, maybe nif should be good to take a look.

My boyfriend has done all he can with the weights rn, I think. Spoiler Here is the .nif: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oRj9XpBXtgBrGX119a9nkcweUaKtKr9V/view?usp=sharing
myuhinny Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 @TheDaedricDoll The weighting isn't the problem it's the mesh area where the arm pits are. It should be a lot snugger and closer to the body in those areas. Spoiler Example of how the pit area should look. Spoiler

myuhinny Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 @TheDaedricDoll It should as right now there is too much of a gap there so when your arms are at the players sides it causes the mesh rip as the arms are now closer to the body then the mesh is. It probably also causes some weighting issues as well because each bone node has so much reach before it stops affecting a mesh piece so anything within it's reach is going to have the node attached to it. Sometimes it might get added to a spot that a bone shouldn't be at. When a bodies movement goes past the reach of a bone node stretching and breaking can occur. Spoiler It also looks like the weighting was done by hand from the looks of it as they are different from the ones done by outfit studios. To add weights using outfit studios just start new project - select body type then hit next followed by finish. Drag and drop your nif onto the screen. Select the top and go to the bone tab and hold CRTL and select the bones that will go for the shirt. Once all are selected go to shape and select copy selected weights - then shapes and select - transfer selected weights. Now the weights should be added to the mesh. Spoiler Weight looks are being ran through outfit studios.

Ragita Anastasya Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 Hey i think you solve this, by the way, will you allow me to add some iron things on it? It would be good if I add some "iron" thing on it. If only allowed
