[1.4] RJW Animation Framework

Thanks, a lot of it was manually opening xmls and searching for defnames constantly. But sometimes I got lucky and there were patches.xmls for other mods like A Dog Said that adds operations that list all of the defnames of the animals in the mod in the right format.

 

Lol yeah I added every animal I could with the philosophy of better than default. Also, with the offset manager it will allow anyone to try to account for the weird sizes/positions themselves.

Of course, hulking amazonian female pawns should be a bit deeper voiced. (Unless they have the annoying voice trait?)

To add support for custom alien humanoid races like this you can try:

  1. Open a animation xml
  2. Ctrl + F search for "<li>Human</li>"
  3. Add the alien defName in the next line under "<li>Human</li>" 
  4. There can be multiple "<li>Human</li>" in one xml, add the new defNames each time
  5. Repeat until you have done this with all of your animation xmls

In your case specifically it should start looking like this:

 

        <defNames>
            <li>Human</li>

            <li>AFerian</li>

            <li>ALapelli</li>
        </defNames>

 

Note:

I have not done this myself and have not tested but in theory should work.

Yes voice files can be adjusted for their pitch and randomized in the Defs\SoundDefs\Sounds_Sex_Voice.xml file. But I believe it will just randomize each sound separately and it won't create a set pitch for a pawn. I have not found a way to get the mod to recognize and play specific sounds/animations for different body types yet. It can adjust position offsets for body types so maybe there is a way. I just started this whole modding thing basically this week so it's all a learning process lol

I added these, but still no effect
I guess it may be because they have extra parts like tails
I tried to delete the tail, but no success

Strange, I think Coffeeee might have mentioned how to add races earlier in this thread somewhere. For me I use Pawn Morpher and that adds lots animal morphed humanoids that work perfectly with this mod and they have lots of extra parts like ears and tails. Interestingly, they work without me adding in the defNames like I mentioned before so I guess there is some other way to add race support. 

 

Some questions:

Are you using the HAR version of this mod?

Did you launch/relaunch Rimworld after you saved the xml changes?

Looking at the comments of those race mods on the workshop it looks like that mod does something to conflict with added parts from other mods. RJW is likely not able to patch genitals for them properly and that's why they don't work.

Just to let you guys know, I've created a tool that can convert Spriter animations into a format readable by the animation framework! Hopefully this will significance smooth out the development of new animations

 

I'd love some feedback on it, and more importantly, bug reports :P

You mean the animation creation wizard? Some indication that the baseline application is actually being used. Discussion on the mod forum post, people showing of stuff they're made, that sort of thing. Download numbers are nice, but not a good indicator of use

I've been meaning to make some animations myself. Once I get voice patch support for all current animations I'll try my hand at it.

@AbstractConcept Well in all fairness a bunch of people might download it and only make animations for their own personal usage. I mean I just haven't been in a Rimworldy mood lately otherwise I'd be crankin' a bunch out myself lol. Though I believe if ya made an upgraded one that does basically most of the work, it would draw a lot more people in to it. *Shrugs* A bunch of us be lazy xD Not like the awesome modders we have here on site and those that help the modders :D

It was designed for horses in particular but I know people like to apply it for all animals and tweak the offsets so I did just that

I cant seem to get it to animate it though only shows the doggy style animation I even remove the animal patch and still seems to only do the doggy animation with the horses

Also i didnt update to rjw 4.3.1 im still on 4.3.0 but i dont think thats whats causing the issue

@c0ffeeeee  Hmm... it seems im getting this error if I try to do any sex and when I reverted back to the older version everything seems to be okay.

This seems like an issue with RJW. Try rolling back to 4.2.6 and seeing if you get these errors.
