how to make changes to any outfits in OS and blender

Because I forget this shit like 45 minutes after having figured it out, I'm writing (myself) a little primer for future reference:

  1. Open outfit nif in OS
  2. select the body mesh part as a reference: right click and export OBJ
  3. select mesh to make edits to
    1. menu: sliders > new slider
    2. select slider (turns pink)
    3. menu: sliders > export slider data... > OBJ
  4. Import body reference and outfit mesh to blender (be mindful of settings: keep vertex order, -Y forward)
  5. Sculpt changes
  6. export outfit mesh (not the body or you get errors later) again mind vertex order and -Y forward
  7. in OS again, menu: sliders > import slider data... > obj
  8. if happy with effect, menu: sliders > set base shape
  9. export to nif

Profit.

Probably better to open notepad on your computer and typing that all into it and then saving it and placing it in a safe place as threads can get deleted during cleanup.
