ugaboj Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Hey there, guys! So I used to have a physical copy of Skyrim a few years ago, but I kind of stopped playing for a very long time and I can't for the life of me find my old physical copy anymore, so I am thinking of just buying a Steam key for cheap. I haven't really played the game much since Special Edition was released, so I don't know much about it other than having heard that it does do a good job of polishing the game. In theory, Special Edition sounds like the better choice because of that, but I also can see that there are much, much fewer Lover's Lab mods available and I imagine something similar goes for normal mods as well. So my question is which would you recommend keeping in mind that I do intend to mod the hell out of the game. Are there any big Lover's Lab mods or other mods that I am going to miss if I go with Special Edition? Or are basically all good, active mods already ported and I won't lose very much? Or is it some kind of situation where a bunch of people are sticking with the original and a bunch are going with Special, so now its basically choose which set of mods you prefer? Any insight you guys can give would be great and appreciated! Obviously, since I am asking here, I do have a focus on Lover's Lab mods, even if I intend to use others as well.
Just Don't Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Oh boy, it's been... almost 2 weeks? without this thread. Check this thread and see if the mods you want have been converted to SE. Check the download sections and explore the latest updates and releases. Make your choice based on the mods you want to use. Nexus mods are nearly the same, with most LE mods already ported or with new mods replacing old LE counterparts. Mods on other sites are hit or miss, depending on each author preference if they release their works for LE, SE or both. Another factor could be ENBseries, if you have a powerful machine and know what you're doing, ENB for LE is still better than ENB for SE, although opinions vary on personal preference, it's a fact that SE ENB isn't at the same level as LE yet.

Thank you very much for the response! I expected that this is probably an often asked about topic - very sorry for repeating it yet again. I did try to search 'special edition or legendary edition' but I didn't find a topic that answered my question, so that is why I ended up making my own. That pretty much answers most of what I wanted to know! Thanks again!
