Deleting a part of an outfit

Hi,

I wanted to delete a part of an outfit (yes this part), with outfit studio. I followed this short tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daRxHabx5nY, except that drag and drop didnt work, So i choose "open outfit".

But well that didnt work. Inside outfit studio yes, its fine, the part i want to remove is gone, but not ingame. Its still there. And i if build the outfit in bodyslide, ingame the outfit is broken. My character have no more breast (only with this outfit of course).

What mesh i have to pick ? i took the one in Mod>bodyslide>shapedata. I tried the one inside Mod>meshes, but that didnt work too. I tried the two meshes, Dress_01.nif and Dress_0.nif.

Do i have to rebuild the morph ? To make something else in outfit studio for the sliders stuff ?

thx

Without knowing the outfit or seeing a screen shot I can only guess at what is happening.

I'll answer the bits I can

Bodyslide\Shapedata is the original shape, if you edit this it will affect the outfits you create in bodyslide. Example, if the outfit had a skirt object/shape and you deleted it from the the shapedata nif it would be missing everytime you created this outfit in bodyslide. If you change anything in Shapedata make a copy first as a backup.

Meshes\... This is your finished outfit either with default slider settings or your custom ones. There will be two here. If you're going to edit one of these set your character weight to 0 or 100 and just edit _0 or _1 until you're happy with result, save you doing both until you have it right. Also, no real need to back these up since creating the outfit again in BS will overwrite it.

I don't know why deleting vertices didn't work ingame, I've never used it since I could never make it look any good but I would have thought it would be no different from deleting an object/shape from an outfit. With the missing body parts, I have seen this two with divine elegance outfits, have even replaced the body reference with a complete one of the bodypart (in this case, the whole lower body, to still be missing. If any can answer that I would love to know as well.

I made some screenshot of it to show :

I open the nif located in shapedata : EDIT : i actualy took the wrong screenshot, i took the one in bodyslide\shapedata. 1.thumb.jpg.5ff6c11758fa006177f887a5cd012210.jpg

Then i delete the vertices i want :

Result, as wanted :

3.jpg.4c64e2fe995ff1aea51120f1f23e02b4.jpg

Then i save by choosing export > export to NIF with references, with the same name, at the same place.

But ingame, if i dont build build the morph, well the part is still here, nothing change.

If i build morph for this outfit, it is what i got (and the part is still there) : (low quality to save bandwidth)

To avoid this defect, simply replace the basic body with yours.

To delete parts, just mask the part you want to remove, then from the Shape palette select: Separate Vertices, you will be asked to rename the part (just also initial it as A) then move on to the meshes, right click on the part to be removed and select Delete. Voilà that's it.
The passage must be repeated on both nif trying to remove the same portion while remaining as precise as possible.

It must also be said that if you have the Caliente Tools nif, and do not undergo any changes, Bodyslide will return the clothes exactly as they were

There is no need to delete vertices on this outfit, you've made it more complicated than it actually is, from what I can tell.

Where you would want to use the delete vertices tools is on an outfit like this.

image.png.091564d756469891d75b124155a7362f.png

In the Meshes column on the right there is only UUNP (the reference body) and Bandit

F_Kilt

So if I wanted to delete the bra top on this outfit I would need to use the delete vertices and try to make sure I got only the bra top.

But, on this outfit, similar to the one you are working on

image.png.a72928adbb59091f952901ff38001096.png

The parts of the outfit have different meshes or shapes. So to delete the Bra top I just need to select it over on the right, its FurTop0 and press the DEL(ete) key on your keyboard.

You will get a confirmation pop up

On the Mesh you are modifying, it looks like the underwear is called Bottom(s)

Then just CTRL-E (which is Export, no need to Export with reference as you've not added a new one, it has one already) and overwite the file your modifying.

I have no idea why it's messing up your chest in game, if the body is made with the same preset as your character then it shouldn't cause anything like this. I do it all the time.

It looks like you are just trying to delete the bottom (aka panties) since is is already a separate item you do not need to go through all these steps.

Just click the "bottom" and hit the delete button, it will ask if you are sure. then export as nif to replace the nif you loaded and it should be good in game.

EDIT Mez558 beat me to it. ?

Obviously, being several parts, just remove only what you want ( in my women's clothes, the panties do not exist  :D ), as you have shown on the screen. The method I listed is relative to the video examined which dealt with a single piece to be broken down into several parts

Finally, i find something easier :

Load project, select *.osd file in bodyslide\slidersets

Select the part, add a zap slider, save project.

In bodyslide, build one by one the outfit with the zap slider checked, And it is working in game.

But well thanks you, with separate vertices i could the same thing by creating myself  a part i want with the brush, i just tried ; i learn something.

Now i can learn how to adjust the sliders, as there are very small clipping in some outfit.
