Having a problem using Sex Lab (I'm new to this)

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to set up Sex Lab for the past few hours and have hit a road block. Whenever I fire up the game I am greeted to a very glitchy view that is virtually impossible to play with. I don't exactly know what is causing this and I've installed a couple of mods (Some i may have installed incorrectly) such as the UNP Female Body Renewal, XPMMSE, Abduction - SSE 0.51.5, etc . I am new to this stuff so sorry in advance if i don't know about some of the stuff you ask.

TLDR: The mods (I think) are making the camera glitch out and i need help fixing it.

Did you do a manual install or do you use any mod manager?

Include you loadorder / modlist if you have more mods than the one you mention.

These red ! are missing meshes files (.nif), so either a bad install or you installed the wrong version. Make sure everything you use is either compatible with SE, made for SE or has been ported to SE.

The camera angle can be a lot of things just messing the intro sequence because that's a heavily scripted part, you'll need to verify you have all the requirements for the mods you intend to use and that everything is installed correctly.

I remember when I started playing skyrim again and installed a bunch of mods right off the bat before having gotten past the intro part and got some weird stuff happening, don't remember exactly what it was but it made it literally impossible to get past that part. So I disabled all my mods and got past the intro and made a clean save starting point once I was out of the cave just after having escaped helgen for all future playthroughs. So I will attach my clean save file here for you to quickly check if its just a mod not playing nice with the intro but fine afterwards or if it's a messed up install as the above poster has mentioned.

I used Vortex for 2 of the mods but everything else I did was manual. Where do i go to see the loadorder? I don't exactly know whats wrong with the mods so is there anything in vortex that will tell me why I am having issues?

If you use Vortex you should install pretty much every mod with Vortex. Adding manual installs to the mix will only create problems for you, specially if you're new to modding. The advantage of mod managers like Vortex or Mod Organizer is that your Skyrim folder is kept clean. If you do manual installs for mods you can install using a mod manager you're defeating the purpose of using those mod managers. Most likely you'll have issues to handle these manual installs using the mod manager, as you are not familiar with how the mod manager works.

I don't use Vortex, so I have no clue about how to get your loadorder from it. Vortex can tell you if something seems wrong, but it doesn't cover every possible issue. So no, you'll need to learn the old way. As I said, that red ! is a missing nif file, some of the files from a mod you installed weren't installed properly or the mod is not for Skyrim SE.

I'd recommend you to go over your mods again, removing them and re installing them after checking that you're indeed using the correct version of your mods. But you did some manual installs, so your game folder has files that won't be removed by Vortex when you remove the mods. So... back to square one. Uninstall the game, delete all the folders, download it again and use Vortex to install your mods from now on. The only exceptions are SKSE, ENB files, stuff that go outside of the "Skyrim Special Edition\Data", everything else should be installed using your mod manager. There are videos about how to use Vortex. And you'll have to check each mod description to check if a mod requires another one and make sure you install them all. That's how it is.
