[solved]Mod Organizer2 Bodyslide texture missing

Hello hello,

maybe someone knows about that problem and can help me.

I'm using Mod Organizer 2 portable and installed Bodyslide and cbbe for testing.

So MO2 is in a folder 'C:\mods', my game is installed in 'C:\programfiles\steam' and so on (commen installation) and all the magic is in users, appdata.

That works very well for Skyrim and most parts of Fallout4. But....it's not working this time.

The first problem I don't have textures, so the preview model is darker than black. It's impossible to edit something this way.

I can't find out where the texture folder is. I think it's a problem with the virtual folder.

After 4 hours of choosing differnt folders as source I give up.

The other problem is, that even if I try to build a hdt body, I have no bouncing in game.

Something is wrong and I don't know what it is. The game can find the folders, otherwise I could not see a change in game.

But something is missing.

Does someone knows more about that? or have a good work arround? I tried to find something on nexus, but bodyslide mod has no bug section, cbbe has not and the installation manuel is no help.

Hello friend and thanks for the answer!

Sadly I allready tried this.

His Video is old also too. In the newer Versions of Bodyslide you can set a path for outputs, so I can read the data from a folder and save all things to another. In this case: overwrite.

I belive...!I BELIVE! it has to do something with the virtual folder. Mo2 creats it when the game starts so basicly if I use just the tool, it search in the the normal unmodded folder.

At least there some things in Data but Bodyslide can't use them or don't recognize them.

Now is my Question: Does Bodylside NEED textures from cbbe or other mods to show me textures? If it is so, I can understand why I just see a black body with nothing.

(That would mean I have to install bodyslide and cbbe manuell so I have the data. But there has to be a workaround, right?...RIGHT?!^^)

Intresting too is, that Tony has at least textures on the body and if he set overwrite as data folder, he gets this grey body. I can do what I want...its just dark. Without shadows or anything.

So...is someone out there with a working MO2 with bodyslide and cbbe and can say something?

This might or might not work.

Start up bodyslide through mo2, if bodyslide has been updated recently it should (well it does for me anyway, ask which game you want to run it for) make sure it is the correct game, now go down and click the settings button at the bottom right of the screen on bodyslide, from there check to make sure that the base target game, base directory, are correct, if they are not then change them, chances are you will need to restart bodyslide for the changes to stick.

Now also look and make sure that bsa textures box is ticked in the general settings section, if it is take a look at the data files list, it should list any bsa files that mo2 can find.

If you are running mo2 you must run bodyslide through mo2, not by itself, otherwise non of the stuff in the virtual directories will be found it will only find base game files.  There was also some changes in how mo2 deals with created files in one of the update, if those files already exist, eg you already built them previously and have them set up then those created files will overwrite existing files, you best be if you are wanting to use a custom output location is choose your desktop or some such, pretty much anywhere where there is not already a meshes directory, then zip that up and install like any other mod.

And yes if you are using cbbe you do want to install some cbbe textures, as from what I remember if there are no textures it will default to the base games ones.  Not too sure if this makes any difference either but on my left pane, bodyslide is below cbbe.

Thanks for the answer! Yesterday I spoke with a person in the dischord support in Discord too.

And he tells me too, that it SHOULD work. Well at least it worked for him. He can see textures in Bodyslide.

I think it's an error on my system. Maybe something I just can't find.

I installed ALL new. Fallout4, mo2 and so on. Maybe I have time to do some tests tomorrow :)

Would be awesome if I can reproduce the error. I will tell it here, maybe one day for a person with the same bug :3

Ok, it's works now!

It was my fault. I had MO2 installed a long time and delete and set up Skyrim or Fallout many times.

I tought I had delete all important files before, so it's "clean" but it wasn't somewhere in the appdata or in the main MO directory there was something that does things that I don't want to happen.

So...I deleted ALL. MO2 installation, Fallout settings in documents, appdata stuff, Games too. Reinstall. Works

I tried a few things to reproduce the error but no luck.

Never change a running system. I just leave it working as it is now^^

So..it is solved and again the error was the user x)

Thanks for the help and your time :)

srry to necro but you are a lifesaver. I reinstalled everything on a separate drive and couldn't figure out why textures weren't showing. Bodyslide was still looking in the old folder location.
