Accessories needed for animations?

I was wondering if the specified CAS accessories are needed for the animations to run? Or are they just to "enhance" the animations? Obviously the stated objects/mods are needed since that's the location, but I am 

1-unsure how to use the CAS accessories just for the animations. Do I have to go into CAS & edit the sim each time before I start the animation? Then go in afterwards & remove it so they're not just carrying around a hairbrush all of the time? Or will the animation automatically equip the sim with the necessary accessory?

2-not sure I want to download all of the accessories listed in all of the animations especially if I can still run them & just imagine them there. I don't take photos or videos, it's all just for me lol
