Decèdere Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 I assume the process is similar to Skyrim where you create the mesh, unwrap it, skin it, add dismember modifier and export. But Fallout 4 apparently uses a different dismember modifier than Skyrim's BSDismemberSkin. Could someone here explain the BS SubIndex Modifier that Fallout 4 uses? For Skyrim all you do is add the modifier, select all faces, and you can choose the equipment slot in NifSkope. What's the equivalent process for Fallout 4? I have found a couple tutorials covering this but they were extremely difficult to follow as the writers were probably not native English speakers. Also is there anything else about the process(especially exporting) that differs from Skyrim? Would I select my mesh + the skeleton and export them together as I'm pretty sure I always did for Skyrim meshes? I'm going to do the trial and error thing until I figure it out but I'm hoping asking here will speed up the process. I apologize if this is the wrong board to post this, I couldn't find one specifically for help with creating mods. EDIT: The above questions still stand but I've run into a new problem. I've exported my mesh and opened it in NifSkope, copied the BSLightingShader property from an existing mesh to mine, but I'm unable to specify my own material, which I created using the 3rd party material editor from nexus. I mean I can change the path by clicking "Edit String Index" on the Name field of the BSLightingShader property, but the textures of the original mesh remain. Clearly this isn't the correct way to load a material but I'm failing to find exact instructions anywhere. Any assistance would be very greatly appreciated. I'm just doing a quick and dirty job right now to get something working in game. <-- Turned out I fucked up with exporting from GIMP
