TelTehLewd Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Ditto. For example, this bug goes as far as the Alternate Start mod working, but no actual assets seem to load, as in character creation, its obvious CBBE and ski and hair textures arent there, and when you go to hair it lists ustom ones, but I'm just bald when I select them. I've doublecheked my custom ini, but otherwise can't figure out whats causing this, I'm using mod organizer, I have f4se installed and that works, etc. It just seems all actual textures or other assets I guess aren't being loaded by the game, only scripts and locations.

You did build your cbbe body in bodyslide?

Look in your Fallout4.ini (......\documents\my games\fallout 4), do you have following lines? Nothing. I've also tried installing just one mod at a time, but again, only alternate start seems to work, nothing that adds any weapons actually works ingame. It says it does, but nothing tha actually changes vanilla files is working, and I can't figure out why.

I'm assuming this is some sort of permissions problem maybe? Since the game can see the mods but doesn't seem to actually load the textures or anything properly.

minibw Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 This is the exact same problem that I'm currently having! I left F4 after playing around a bit with it at launch, and then very recently -- like, in the last couple days -- tried to do some modding with it. I've modded Skyrim a lot with MO2 so I felt like I knew what I was doing, but then when I actually load this game I'm...well, I'm having this literal issue. My mods are enabled in the MO2 right-hand menu, everything is in the right place when I take a look in the "Explore Virtual Folder" option. And when I'm actually inside the game, the MCM loads up (albeit with a "$" in front of it) and it looks like the LooksMenu is active as well when I create a new character. The game outright tells me that I have mods active when I start it, and that it's deactivating achievements because of that. The "Start Me Up" alternate start mod activates when I'm done with character creation and literally ports me into the alternate start. But...that's it. Nothing else is actually working. The meshes and textures that I downloaded and created in Bodyslide aren't appearing. The mods I downloaded don't do anything, even though I can actually adjust their settings in the existing MCM. For example: I can turn on the Bad End: Purgatory mod, but getting killed just leaves me dead and reloading. Despite the fact that everything looks like it's doing the right thing, in reality it's as if I hadn't modded the game at all in spite of the alternate start I got! Heck...if I save my modded game, turn off mods, and reload that save, it shows me all the mods that the save is missing. Does anyone have an update on OP's problem, or any further suggestions on what exactly to check? How could the mods be loaded...but not affect the game at all? I'm about another load away from trying to do this on Vortex instead. Is that a good mod manager to use?
