CSE failed to initialize correctly

And I even know why! I have Oblivion installed to my default directory, which apparently I'm not supposed to do. So far though, I've had no problems with that.

Starting it up prints this to the log:

[CSE]	Construction Set Extender "Konniving Kelpie" v6.0.925 Initializing ...
[CSE] Checking Versions and Dependencies
[CSE] Editor/game is installed to the Program Files directory - An unprotected directory like 'C:\Games\' is recommended

though that just tells me what I already knew.

Is there any way to force the CSE to work? If not, how do I move my files to a new location?

I currently have a disc installation on my computer, as well as a version installed by Steam, which is installed outside of my Program Files folder. Could I, and how, do I move my files there?

I assume I'd need to move my saves, which I'd be fine with.

Ok, to move your current game here is what you do:

1. make a copy of all your ini files in your my documents folder (where your saved games are) and move that copy somewhere outside of the folder.

2. Rename your oblivion game folder to something different like oblivion-can't touch this.

3. Uninstall the disc version of the game.

4. Reinstall the game to somewhere outside of the programs file.

5. Now delete the contents inside the newly installed oblivion folder but NOT the oblivion folder itself.

6. Move the contents of your old oblivion folder to your new one (that should now be empty per step 5).

7. Move your ini files back and overwrite the new ones that will be present in your my documents folder.

8. Play the game. You should be ready to go with no issues at all and no mods to reinstall.

Welp, here goes nothing!

Folder renamed, files moved. Uninstalled, Re-installing now.

Thought I'd drop a comment, mention that it worked! Thanks, Greg!

I think my bashed patch needs to be re-tweaked, though, heh.
