Transparency in nifskope

Hey, so I was trying to edit the kibelius armor to make it different colors and more transparent, after changing the color in paint.net, I jumped in nifskope for the transparency.

As the armor already has an alpha to it, I edited the BsLightningShaderPropriety and changed its value.

Boom, the armor looks good, exported it > remade the archive > installed aaand nothing.

The armor only looks as I want in outfit studio and in nifskope, in game looks only bright red.

I figure its something to do with the textures, but I dont have a clue how to edit the opacity in gimp even with all these tutorials around.

Im open to any solutions, Thanks.

Here is the zip for it

Into BsLightningShaderPropriety , chance valor Alpha ( for example, i change valor from 1. 000000 to 0. 500000 )for transparency . Apply this for all part armor if you want transparency

Hey, thanks for being so fast. I already did with no change, the valor was was lower than 0.5 and I can see changes in nifskope but ingame the armors is just the same.

Download gimp2. Next load the texture file into gimp2 and use the lasso tool to lasso the piece you want transparent. In nifskope right click the piece you want to have transparency or make invisible and go to node - attach property - NiAlphaProperty.

To make something transparent. Lasso it then select the eraser change the Opacity to anything but 100 as 100 will erase the whole thing. Adjust The size of the brush to do it faster. Usually good to start low and test how it looks in nifskope. Try setting it to 20 then hold down the mouse button and run it over the whole piece that's been lassoed. Overwrite .DDS file and check nif. If it looks good great if not go back to gimp2 and either undo the eraser or do it again to make it more transparent. Make sure to add the NiAlphaProperty to both the _0 and _1 nifs as what is done to one has to be done to the other one as well or nothing will change in game.

Another one is to lasso the piece and then go to edit - cut - overwrite .dds file then in nifskope right click the piece and go to node - attach property - NiAlphaProperty. Once added the piece you deleted out from the texture file will become invisible.
