DarkFlame277 Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Hello, I was messing with an eye texture in GIMP and exported it using DXT5 (BC3) compression with no mipmaps but when I tested it in game the eyelash textures were very sharp and pixelated compared to the unedited textures. I tried exporting with no compression but that didn't fix it and I tried using Ordenador on it too but that didn't work either. Here is a picture to show what I mean. The one on the right is edited and the one on the left is not. Â Spoiler Â
DarkFlame277 Posted November 30, 2019 Author Posted November 30, 2019 More info: I tried exporting it to different resolutions 512 and 2048, neither solved my problem. And in Ordenador I was using the Minimum preset. I just tried using Photoshop instead of GIMP with a 2048 texture. I tried Linear and sRGB compression on both BC3 and BC7 but that didn't fix it either. I have no idea what to do now and no idea what is going on. Help will be greatly appreciated.
DarkFlame277 Posted December 1, 2019 Author Posted December 1, 2019 Okay, I guess I just had to generate mipmaps, because after doing that and saving as BC3 in Photoshop the eyelashes were no longer pixelated. Also, Linear was the right one to use sRGB made the eyes dark.
