New computer. I thought I'd give The Sims 3 another go, after years of only playing Sims 4, but I am at a complete loss just trying to make a Futa character.

- I have all the Cmar nude and morphing scripts.

- I have the Cmar Female Penis scripts. They worked from SexySims for me so I didn't need to get them from this thread.
- I have Enhanced Bodies, since it was recommended in another thread about Futa characters. Pretty sure it added the Penis sliders.
- I have the Kurasoberina skin, since that was recommended in the same thread just to make the characters look better.

- I made a brand new Female sim in a newly installed and modded game but couldn't find any transgender options in CAS other than the Cmar Accessory Penis.

- So I went to the Hospital ingame and got penis implant surgery.

* But there's STILL no penis. Not when she strips naked to shower. Not when she goes to bed, Not when she has sex. She gets 'shemale' moodlets now, like "Morning Wood", but there's no penis visible for it... All her animation choices are still female ones, so she can only do FF animations with her partner, or F solos. And if I unlock the gender lock on animations then playing any male animation just gets the pose rejected.

What am I missing here? It's been so frustrating that I'm considering just going back to The Sims 4

You may have a conflict. It is recommended to leave one thing: either cmar or enhanced bodies. When creating a female character, in the bottom section, you must select a picture where only arms are visible. The fBottomAltNude_penis file is responsible for this (Enhanced Bodies). I can’t give you any more details, I don’t use it.

You need to click on the target sim -> Kinkyworld -> Debug -> Sim... -> Set to futa or shemale. I did that before everything else and I was wondering why I was missing the penis. Came here to download it and restarted my game so now it shows but it doesn't get hard. Better than nothing.

Hense the reason for the Sims 4 return to the Sims 2 style. Ever wonder 'why' they returned to only a single lot active on screen at any one time? The Sims 3 is IMO 'too' advanced for what they settled on for a finished game and just making new expansions work with the existing nuances created by having an entire 'world' active instead of a singular lot when the screen is focused on it was trouble in itself.

You are realizing the difference in hand holding that time has inflicted on users - lowering their skills to deal with older games and mods. I never understood how the Sims 4 became so much more popular when it offers so much less in terms of game advancement.

It's almost similar to many mod creators for the Sims 3. When first released and many were jumping on board the 'mod' train, you can see as at any time, there is a huge difference in quality and ability of mod makers with many of the best mods quite old as those people of advanced ability came, saw, did, and left. The amount of people that qualified whom are left and still involved could fit in a sports car.

You are also finding 2nd and 3rd generational advice for an older game which often never covers any reason for what they suggest you do - it more like just do this, we don't know why but sometimes it works. In an emergency yes - but I wouldn't invest in that type of 'help' since without reasons other related issues/solutions are never approached. Still, if you have deductive skills, you yourself can bypass the limits of the information given you - IF you have a good understanding of how the mods work without being able to make them yourself.

My advice has never changed: Make a second mod folder and rename the first with ORIG added to the name. Now only put one mod in there to see if it works with nothing else - unless it has specific dependencies = then put them in there as well and try the game to see whether they function as advertised. The reason is to make it easier to find the needle in the haystack. I would refer again to my example of the Seasons Expansion conflicting with 'Mummies walk normal' which caused all skaters to walk instead of skate. Old mods can do this if not tested and made to work with newer official EA expansions.

Mod use is a player thing that corporations have (like everything else we enjoy) decided to involve themselves in which WILL change the way people can/will use mods as it also gives them some 'control' of the game for selfish reasons trying to limit what we can do with the games by making the 'old ways' near impossible for the Plug and Play generation to adopt.

TLDR: Modding has become 'easier' if you follow the corporate design and never learn how mod use was before they began trying to take over.

Thanks, but you've quoted me from over a year ago. From memory I did eventually give up and go back to Sims 4, but as it stands right now I don't have any Sims games installed anymore.

Mod use is a player thing that corporations have decided to involve themselves in...

Hopefully, the crash-and-burn of Bethesda's Creation Club will warn wiser companies away from monetizing the work of unpaid contributors.

As far as games getting easier to mod goes, that's two-fold:  first, mods increase a game's lifespan by increasing its replay value, and that happens for free if a group of talented individuals take a liking to it and don't find it too difficult to work with, and it doesn't cost a studio much to embrace a fan community that's gonna keep their game selling for longer than it would have.  On top of that, a number of big gaming studios started from modders collaborating, and those studios have been bought up by larger companies, and that's infecting the business from the inside to be more modder-friendly.  Schools that teach game development accept functioning mods on existing games as coursework.

So it's not really that the corporations have decided to involve themselves in modding, it's that modders are modding the way businesses do gaming.  Companies respond by releasing tools or deciding not to encrypt certain game files, and stepping away with a tongue-in-cheek endorsement that they don't support mods.  Of course they're not going to support something they didn't do, but they won't turn down the extended sales life that modding creates.  We'd be on Elder Scrolls 9 by now if modding wasn't still extending the life of Skyrim...

But you're giving EA too much credit if you think they're intentionally controlling how mods work.  They can barely figure out how to get the game to save right, messing with modders is waaaaaaaay beyond their capability or scope.

I know this is years old but I'm encountering issues with both links. Any recommendations?

The blogspot one is gone. Sadly, CmarNYC passed away a few years ago, and their blogspot site remained for a while, but it is completely gone now.

The link for sexysims works. BUT, you have to be registered and logged in to the site. AND, after you log in, you need to do a full refresh on the page (hold down the shift key while you click on the refresh button when using Chrome or FireFox).
