after replacing it my game crashes on load before the main menu even shows up, did more files update beyond just the exe? I havent had this issue before, replacing the exe has worked before (I dont even know how the Steam settings were changed in the first place)  I am not getting the normal F4SE error after overwriting the new exe with the last version, any ideas arte appreciated, thanks.

Reverting the 11/20/2019 Fallout4 patch for F4SE compatibility.

It updated more than the exe. You will need to activate steam's console. Go to your short-cut for steam and right click it > properties > add -console to the end of the file path in the Target: field.

Now open up steam and go to the console tab, since you backed up your exe you will not need the first command but for anyone else who might need it the first command will get you a compatible exe for F4SE before 11/20/2019 Fallout 4 patch. The second command is about 20 g but will get you the needed files to overwrite for the game to run. Run each command one at a time, it might not seem like it is doing anything but you can watch the download tab to stay roughly updated on its progress. Once they finish go to where ever your steam is installed and find %steam/steamapps/content inside here you can find your needed files. The files that were updated were Fallout4 - Interface.ba2, Fallout4 - Materials.ba2, Fallout4 - Meshes,ba2, Fallout4 - Misc.ba2, Fallout4 - Startup.ba2, Fallout4.ccc, Fallout4.esm. Find these files in your game install and replace them with the files from the %steam/steamapps/content folder.

Use the below for exe

download_depot 377160 377162 5753331920310626375

Use the following for files needed

download_depot 377160 377163 4209946825939071876

I hope this helps you.

Thank you! I am working on downloads. It took me a bit to figure out the Steam Console, I had never activated it. No updates is back on although I do not think I turned auto updates on....damn it....thanks again, I had no idea how to get even close to that info.

1. Have STEAM uninstall yer game.

2. Have STEAM install yer game.

3. Create folder "Fallout 4 Backup" on another drive.

4. Drag a **COPY** of your Fallout 4 folder to your backup folder.

5. Profit.
