SE update roll back issues

hey guys

so long story short, havent played skyrim for a few months. last i played it was running flawlessly

went to load up today and a recent skyrim update has invalidated a load of my mods, so i tryied rolling back to the previous update with the last depot but now im getting ctd when either loading a save or starting a new save

so before i embark on updating and spending the weekend trying to find updated versions of my mods to get everything to work i figured id ask if theres something simple im missing?

how do you chaps deal with updates invalidating your mods?
