Scorpio Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Just started freezing recently at random and it lasts anywhere from 10-30 seconds at a time. Happened in BB mode, CAS, playing in game, and even when going into the WW Settings Menu. Sometimes freezes when sims are having WW sex, but totally at random times, or maybe just when other things are happening on lot/neighborhood. No CTD's or LE's. Removed all newly added mods, plus a few others. Found 3 duplicate cc files, clothing, nail paint , hair, (may have fixed the CAS freeze but haven't tried doing much yet). Played around with graphics settings. Mod Conflict Detector didn't find any problems. Other things I've done recently: Installed 2 EP's, GTW & CL, but game ran fine for several days after. Downloaded 2 new Custom Female Sims, (had to go through all the cc included to delete all the dupes). (Worked fine at the old lot/house but almost never had any NPC/Townie visitors). Moved to a bigger lot and built a bigger house, single floor, big backyard , garden, etc., for 8 sims. (Now have pretty regular random visitors, only sims that are friends/lovers of course). (Tried playing an older save on a smaller lot but still had some freezing) Happens on other lots/households and at the Lounge in Windenburg. Happens mostly when NPC sims are spawning into zone, and/or my sims are coming/going to work/school. Or like when a bunch of sims are all trying to do something at the same moment in time. Older save and the population has grown for 3 generations without many deaths, had longer life span set in MCCC, and no culling. No aging for active sims. Only really play 1 household most of the time.

Thanks for the ideas... I removed Nisa's/saves way before the problem started but not WW yet. You think I may have some old junk stuck in my saves? My next test was going to be starting a new game to see if the problem persisted. Strangest thing is after I posted this issue yesterday my game ran perfect for many hours. What I did after first post here: Removed 1 more Mod: LittleMsSams More Visitors (Can add a new lot trait to force/spawn NPC's at public venues by gender, age, etc). (It had been disabled though, ie, not in use on any lots). Went back into online mode at Origin and updated it. My internet was down for the last 7 days, right around the same time the freezing started. Didn't bother to mention it in my first post because it's not usually an issue running TS4 offline. I've done it many times in the past for many days at a time when I didn't want to update the game and the game ran fine. Maybe the game was PO'ed at me for turning off all the online features, lol.

Yeah it could be your save. doing a deep clean should fix it...usualy. Remember to only use google drive or dropbox when Downloding any LMS mods. SFS can mess things up sometimes. A similar thing happened to me with my game, my isp has been having intermittent connection for the past week. I deleted the ww+nisa files in saves/re-repaired game/replaced all scripted mods/cleaned the save file/started game online/saved&quit/loaded save offline. (I always play offline & have auto-updates off). That seemed to fix it except for two things= 1-The work outfit on one sim was broken, (the game put him in a cc dress!) i used this cheat= sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas. 2-Every time a sim got the flirty buff, it threw a LE. fixed it by using this cheat= sims.remove_all_buffs. woks fine now...so far anyway!

The thing that worries me about doing a deep clean is loosing all my customized sims hairs, makeup, clothing, etc. I have edited over 100 Female Townies/NPC's plus my Active Household, (7 females(2 Adults/5 Teens)), all using high poly hairs and tons of cc makeup, etc. I'd hate to have to do it all over again Maybe I just don't fully understand the term 'deep cleaning' but it sounds dangerous, lol. I like those cheat tips. The one thing that drives me batty is seeing Townies/NPC's dressed up in all the strange mixed up clothing wandering around. Visitors and my sim even do it after having normal EA Woohoo. Clothing I've never used on any sim, especially the goofy hats. Odd that I haven't found any mods so far to fix that shit. I've read lots of complaints online about it as it seems to be a continual issue, from long ago, with the game itself. Haven't figured out if MCCC Dresser could fix it or not, too complicated.

As long as you have the same cc and don't remove any of it, you are good. *Drag your mods folder to desktop. *Repair game. *Start game/load your save/only load to the map screen, (not the family) then do a "save as" call it "cleansave 0" (or whatever you like) & then quit the game. *Open the new "Mods" folder the game just created on your DT & open the "Mods" folder you took out before. *Delete the "Resourse.cfg" in the Mods folder that you took out. *Drag the new "Resourse.cfg" into that Mods folder. *Delete the new Mods folder the game created. *Drag or Cut&Paste the Mods folder back into your "The Sims 4" folder. *Run game/load the save you made before/ and "save as" call this "test 1" (or whatever you like) then Quit the game. *Now run game/ load the save "test 1" and play. You now have a cleaned save "modded", and you still have a cleaned save "unmodded" to fall back on. only cc that you remove will not show up in game, if you have the same cc your sims will be fine. I do this all the time with my saves. Remember to always Delete the "localthumbcache.package" if you add or delete anything in your mods folder. Hope that helps. B10.
