usernametaken Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Ever since I re-installed Skyrim and decided to re-organize all my mods I’m not having much luck with Skyrim in getting it to work. Constant CTD’s or some other problem. Pretty much before I had no problems but I had a shit ton of mods installed. So I deleted all my mods and downloaded mostly texture mods and other immersive mods. I deleted most of my armor mods since it was making my NMM cluttered. So anyways, I figured I’ll ask here without having me run into a billion more problems and not get to enjoy the game because of these mods. What are some mods for characters that you guys recommend I use? I’m looking for high res textures, a more realistic look to my characters. For example I prefer UNP, so I have that, but what else do you guys recommend? I also use Navetsea textures as well. But yeah what do you guys recommend for high res textures and a more realistic look? Also for example with some mods that replace some parts of the other mods, what should I replace and what shouldn’t I replace? Now this is for characters only, not environment which I think I have a better idea of which mods to use. By the way, I'm looking for male and female mods, also ones that alter NPC looks to make them look as realistic as possible in Skyrim.
BSnake Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Nuska Real Skin for Women is pretty realistic, focusing on skin imperfections rather than makeup. Fair Skin Complexion is a popular mod for many female body types. MacKoms Real Skin for Men was inspired by Nuska's mod. Better Males is probably the most popular male body mod with the most variations. Have you installed an ENB preset? It will do wonders for eye candy if you haven't tried one out yet.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will try them out, and yes I do have an ENB installed.
usernametaken Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Also is there anything anyone recommends for hair and eyebrows? I use appachi hair but damn it, that thing just causes all sorts of problems sometimes when enabling another mod. Anything more realistic than that out there? Or something that is known not to cause CTD's?

Or something that is known not to cause CTD's? [/quote'] If you use Apachi, remember to optimize texture by using the Optimizer available on Nexus, it reduce the CTD a lot. As for realism, I can only offer body stuff because while my character is pretty, she's unrealistic-esque pretty. I've seen some really well-done ones that made me wanna flip my desk. Anyways, here's what my character's body looks like: I use the fair skin body texture from Nexus, I believe its available for UNP as well.
BSnake Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Numenume Femalebrows is pretty good. ApachiiSkyHair shouldn't present any problems except for duplicate hairs when used with the Skyrim NPC Editor. CTDs can occur with any hair mod if you run out of VRAM, have too many high quality textures being rendered, or have too many hair mods activated at the same time. Recommendations for hairs include Cazy/Demoness Hairs, ZZShop hairs, Morten Hairs, Sims Hairs, Oblivion Hair Pack, Fallout 3 Hair Pack, Beautiful Hair, TERA Hair, etc.
Ser Maggot Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 If you still want to use Apachii, I recommend overriding that mods texture with something more gritty. Also, if you're still looking for face textures, I recommend Pikkatze's Male and Female Textures.

Sorry to bump this old thread. I'm just looking for Nuska Real Skin for Woman for UNP and stumble upon this post. Can someone reupload the Nuska Real Skin for Woman for UNP? The file was deleted all over the internet. It's too bad a very good looking skin just gone. Ysolda never as good as realistic as this one!
