can anyone else get the patch to work or am i just dumb?

without the patch the junk doesn't show up but its even worse with the patch. I've got blue horses that have no texture except for the junk and straight up invisible horses.

when it does work for the most part, whenever i claim a horse using immersive horses it turns a male horse into a female horse and I've found no way to fix this.

all the animations work fine, its just the horse models that are broken. i have very little modding experience and this is a pain in the ass. i just don't get it.

Form the MNC pathces FOMOD on this issue:

"origin of mod this is made for:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64067

install Immersive Horses before adding this patch.

WARNING: don't use the "Vanilla Horse Textures" setting, the "Immersive Horses - Vanilla.esp" will absolutely fuck up everything if loaded.

suggested load order:

SexLab.esm

SexlabAroused.esm

CreatureFramework.esm

SkyUI.esp

UIExtensions.esp (if installed)

FNIS.esp

SexLabTools.esp (if installed)

MoreNastyCritters.esp

HentaiCreatures.esp (if installed)

SexLabMatchMaker.esp

SLAnimLoader.esp

Immersive Horses.esp

Immersive Horses Patch.esp

WARNING: avoid using Bash/Smash patches on horse mods, it fucks up everything."

I happen to use Convenient Horses, didn't put it in any bashed patches/merged mods, have it installed before MNC and have it running just fine.  I checked out that patch for Immersive Horse, and the content is meshes only, no textures, etc.  Depending on your mod manager (steps different for NMM, Vortex, and MO2), check the load order and prioritize it as above.

Sorry, to be more clear..., the key there was to install your horse mod before more nasty critters and this patch.  Then install more nasty critters and this patch - which will overwrite the meshes from your horse mod.  Then this patch's plugin and patch should load after more nasty critters, etc.

wow so i must have totally missed the "do not use vanilla horse textures" thing, and it's working better, but claiming a horse still changes it to a female model with no way to change it back that i can find.

That particular one, I'm not familiar with, never having used that horse mod - but the mod site has this note:  "Horses purchased at stables are now female to match the in-game dialog."  So, I would assume "wild" horses (i.e. ones you don't own) are male and your purchased/claimed horses are female?

the ones with the saddles are females while the other ones are male. so i'm claiming a male horse and it's turning into a female.

I'm seeing reports of that in the forum for that mod... apparently it's an issue with the mod itself.  Some people are claiming you can set them back to male in xEdit, but that would only affect newly acquired horses.  Existing horses are clones from the template, changed to females.

There is a console command:  sexchange <target>  (an npc you clicked on in console) though I don't know if this would actually work with a creature.  You may then also need to use the recycleactor command.

@Wicked Cat  So the sexchange command works on the horse.... I just tested it out.  Horse had a twig and berries, then clicked on with console and simply: sexchange, and the equipment was replaced with nipples and a vagina.  SexLab/MNC also registered the horse as female with the SexLab Debug spell (apparently there are female horse animations too).  It works the other way as well.  I found a female horse, and made it male the same way - then it played male horse animations.

Regarding the FOMOD warning, does this mean if you use Convenient Horses, you can't use a bashed patch at all, or is there way  to "avoid using it" on the horse mod, but still use it on the rest of your load order for the leveled lists support?

Right, so you can just exclude this/those mods from the bashed patch process all together when creating the bashed patch by unchecking them prior to creating the patch.  Alternatively, you can change the bash tags to prevent them from being included as well.

Here is a whole lot more info on that than you probably wanted:  https://wrye-bash.github.io/docs/Wrye Bash Advanced Readme.html
