uh sorry i don't quite get this sort of poll, you have "best rpg of all time" and list none of the games that are on the site?

no oblivion,skyrim, fallout3/nv?

 

how about baldurs gate, icewind dale, dragon age:origin, planetscape:torment? i could list ff6/3, ff7, but i was never a huge fan of jrpgs.

there many best rpg that people didn't know about, seriously people need to stop being like " oooh wheres that game in the list" it's not about winning mainstream game , some of these game are independent.

The whole idea is that a poll is going to be subjective. What I like will be different than what you like and what other's like. You shouldn't be invested in the results or even care if anyone likes what you like... but a poll should cover as many bases as you can find, even if the results don't agree with your notion of what's good, preconceived or not. I was pointing out that I didn't see any of what I'd consider to be the best rpg's of all time in your poll choices so I simply can't vote. I have played many of the games you listed, however, and they don't rank among my top games list. I don't care if it's a big company or an independent as far as whether I like a game. I don't know where you got that idea. You appear to have some serious biases in this poll (and your other polls... and reviews... and posts...). If you want to post polls, you should attempt to remove your biases and focus on a poll that gathers information, not just information you agree with.

lol , Arguing about poll now are we , i didn't list all the game and put it just like , and i didn't actually agree all the time, look if you dislike the thread , what's point going over and argue?, i tend to be ignorant sometime but in this case i just gonna pretend just listen, if you don't want to vote fine but why the attitude really, if you want to make better polls , make them your self not all people would agreed the same list ,FYI i'd be honest with you ok , even i'm biased at least i didn't hold back like faking " oh this game is great" but turns out it's a huge disappointment , i don't play the same game over and over , that is why i explore other game that should be noticed , if you disliked my reviwe then why care there's alot other reviews that 10x times better then me , i do not claimed all my list was the best i pick random all the time so everytime when i make a poll different games is gonna be up voted.

i don't go around being biased and hating games all day ,i had reason why is because i play certain game that has potentially having future sequel and people who liked the game before demand reebot a game that supposed to remade and they didn't listen tell that to your self , the future sequels that ruined the first day i bought the game " and you had the nerve say remove my biases" name on of you list that doesn't have disappointing endings or better disappointing concepts, people hate because we don't want crap mainstream /indie game.

The only game I've played out of these is legacy of Kain and ultima, and let's just say neither of them is really that far up my "favourite list" compared to some other games mentioned by other members.

I consider myself to be a fan of RPGs yet I have not played a single one on that list.

If you like strategy RPGs at all you should try Arc the Lad II sometime.

 

Good thing it was translated and released before 2001, too. Considering it has a scene where a major landmark in a city with two towers that look exactly like the World Trade Center is attacked by an air vehicle commanded by a middle eastern guy with a beard and a turban.

see this list makes sense because there are some best games hidden on the list what new generation of gamers didn't know about i don't put list like this on random shot i read some articles about it and let people dicide , who wanted to put a list that everybody keep playing other games deserve attention to.

Star Ocean, I really, really wanted to play it. But after some time with it I just count stand it any more. ;(

 

And if you ask me now what I disliked in it - I cant tell, I don't remember lol. But bad taste remains

Most of them do tend to drag on, but First Departure is rather well put together, as is The Second Story.

Also the original SNES version, Fantastic Space Odyssey is really, really good. Though you'll need a ROM + fan translation if you don't understand Japanese (while it shares the same plot as First Departure, it is a very different game with more Zelda style exploration).

 

Till the End of Time however.. not only does it drag on forever, it has a plot twist that makes Mass Effect 3's ending look well thought out and inoffensive.

I could not even play 10 minutes of the 4th game.

Ah fellow Star Ocean fans which share the same sentiments as me. Loved Second Story on the PS1 and it's probably my favourite game of all time.

 

Whoever wrote End of Time needs to never develop a game again. The whole 4D space thing was just lol.

hmmm best RPG...

its a tough question, cause there are many aspects of a game that will make it good.

 

my top 5 would be:

(note these are not numbered in the way they are presented)

 

Neverwinter Nights. with the loads content that is available today it still holds

 

Fallout 2. if you havent played it, shame on you

 

Little big adventure 1 & 2. i dont know if this counts as an RPG, but it surely has a place in my heart.

 

Suikoden 2. epic story, epic character roster. my memory may be nostalgia tainted

 

Arcanum. much like fallout but in a fantasy world.

 

Mass Effect. due to its great story and action (in case LBA didnt count as an RPG)
