Blender

Hay I have been successfully exporting using fbx format. At first I thought the problem I had was caused on export but the other day I noticed the problem was there after import with nif format.

Well problem is that on importing nifs into blender rewrites the bone groups by moving the L R to the end following a . So a bone group called say NPC L Calf[LClf] gets changed on importing nif format into blender to read NPC calf[LClf].l and that screws everything up on exporting.

So I tried to rename everything back and export into fbx format however when I open the fbx in OS to convert back to nif format I see it exports with messed up names again.

Conclusion is that it must be a setting in blender that's telling it to rename the bone groups and I am asking if anyone has any ideas even what it might be found please share. Thank you in advance for looking.

No it does it in both fbx or nif and it does it export import so it must be a choice some were. It never did it before now it fucks the names up everytime a magor pain in the ass. Basically every bone node that is not new gets the L or R moved from right after NPC to the very end of name and no longer in caps not that it matters at that point because even that alone would kill it. I been opening up the nif stuf and although I'm still not sure about some I kind of get it. So maybe soon i will fix it. It be a while if i can though cus i mean still cant get it to work with 2.8 yet. For that was supposed to be simple fix just change a few lines they said lol not for me so it might just be hopeless to ever get bones out of blender right or get the uv,s out not all fucked would be nice to.
