Sim_Soup Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 So, everytime I first enter a save, the game tells me something like "FATAL ERROR: Wicked Whims Tuning file is missing" but my game runs fine. Exiting the game to figure this out, as I was sure I downloaded the tuning file, I find both the script file and the tuning file. And yes, they are simply in the mods folder. I didn't put them in any folder layers or anything. I have removed them and put them back in, and I get the same message, I haven't however deleted and reinstalled. My game version is 1.54.120.1020 and I haven not recieved any exception files after or as a result of this "error". I'm not entirely sure what could be causing this issue unless I've just missed some sort of instruction somewhere.
Scorpio Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 First time using any mods? Did you enable both the mod & scripts boxes in the EA game menu: Other? Exit and Restart. You can try deleting those 2 WW files and re-downloading them, they might have been corrupted somehow. (If you have other mods that depend on WW for functionality, like Nisa's WP, or CNNW, remove them first and retest WW) Could be another mod messing up WW, so it's best to eliminate all other possibilities to narrow down the problem.
Sim_Soup Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 Sorry this took so long, I'm going to try to answer all your questions: It is not my first time, I've had mods for a while, and in fact just a last week or two ago I updated them all, and went through all associated errors so I'm confident they all work. Both the mods and script boxes are enabled. I did try deleting both WW files and redownloading, only to get the same error, and I even tried removing every mod except for WW, including MCCC, and upon opening the game I recieved the same error. Oh actually, I was just reading the error: "TURBODRIVER_WickedWhims_Tuning.package file is missing!" , And it occurred to me that the file is not named that anymore. I always rename my mods and CC for easier organization and later finding, could it be that because the file is under a different name the script can't find it within my mods folder? That doesn't make sense to me though that the script file still works after renaming but the tuning doesn't, but I don't know alot about how those go about finding files. Btw thank you so much for trying to help me I appreciate it. I might try and rename the file back and see what that does.
Sim_Soup Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 Okay so that actually seems to have fixed it? I just got two notifications I've never recieved before XD One congratulating me on installing WW v145c and another telling me how many animations I have loaded. So my theory then is because the mod still worked regardless of what I name the file, I think it can still find it as it still runs the exact same, but it might be specifically written to tell the player specific things only if "exact file" is found maybe? Idk maybe you can help me understand better, but I do really appreciate all your help! Thank you!

Old habits from playing with computers for the last 50 odd years I guess. Single '.package' files are usually less problematic. But the more complicated mods like WW, MCCC, etc., which have 2 files, link some files internally to run/load faster I think.
MagnaCarter Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 I have this problem (I don't rename anything) but I have the Tuning file but the game says its not there? I think I figured out the problem appernely that Sims 4 new upadate added another mod layer to check off before you can do anything I think I found the problem-that the new updated added another layer to check off before the mods would show up before you just had to check of "enable mods" but now there's an option to enable script mods.themselves (unless I'm dreaming?)

Both check boxes, enable custom content/mods & enable scripts have always been there. Normally just the cc/mods gets turned off when updating the game. Somehow in your situation the other 'scripts' box also got disabled, which is pretty strange IMO.

I'm so glad that I read your post! My game wasn't loading everything (no kitchen counters!) and apparently I forgot to check this box off in my game. So thank you!!
