DMRA and BBB just don't work. I need help.

STATUS: SOLVED

SOLUTION: Simply installing Wrye Bash 295 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/oblivionworks/files/Wrye%20Bash/Wrye%20Bash%20295/Wrye%20Bash%20295%20-%20Installer.exe/download) fixed the problem. DMRA Body mods and BBB began working. Solution courtesy of Ark of Truth. Wrye Bash 303 will not work. Current as of 1/9/2013.

I've had this problem for a really long time, and for most of my time spent playing Oblivion, it hasn't been that big a deal. I just load up HGEC and leave it at that. However, lately I've been wanting to get into CLS and give that a playthrough. This isn't exactly the most feasible thing, as most of you are probably aware of, without a working BBB.

My two problems are this: when I put the DMRA body files (femaleuppbody.nif, femalelowerbody.nif, femalehand.nif, femalefoot.nif) into their respective folders (oblivion/data/meshes/characters/_male) it doesn't do anything to my character. It just stays stock body and stock underwear. The other problem is with BBB: stretched breasts and butts, a very common issue apparently but I just can't figure it out.

Every solution I've ever looked into has said that the problem is with the skeleton. I either have no idea what that means, or it is not my problem. I've tried several skeletons (Groulfs, Coronerras, some random ones I don't really recall the names for). I always manually install these skeletons directly into my data folder (or straight into oblivion/data/meshes/characters/_male if the random skeletons I picked up only contained the .nifs in an unorganized manner). I always end up with stretched skeletons.

I can do about dick all to fix this and it's gotten frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried the following DMRA / BBB things and none of them have worked for me, only HGEC has worked:

http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=7990 (Ark of Truth)

http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=3778 (Thorazine)

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/33441 (BBB for BBB by Saaya [using the BBB for DMRA option])

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/34523 (DMRA Fine Tuned Body Replacer by Nabernas)

I have tried the following universal skeletons:

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/37596 (Growlf's)

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/27945 (Coronerras)

Various other skeletons that sometimes came with DMRA mods (I always overwrite other skeletons with the Growlf or Coronerras skeletons whenever I install a body mod or armor replacing mod)

I do not download animation replacers because I think I read somewhere where it's recommended that I don't screw around with those while playing CLS. Even then, I don't think that would be causing the stretchy boobs.

I also have OBSE, Pluggy, and Universal Silent Voice. All are working fine because I haven't encountered any problems anywhere else. I don't think any of these would cause the problem, but I don't know what I am doing apparently so there isn't any harm in mentioning it.

The installation steps I usually take:

1. Install one of the skeletons. Both Coronerras and Growlf have an organized zip, so I just extract whichever one I feel like trying to use then merge the data folders and overwrite the skeletons.

2. Install a DMRA / BBB body mod. I only know how Ark of Truth's files are off the top of my head, but I generally have to drop those files directly into data/meshes/characters/_male because they aren't organized as well as the Growlf's files. Otherwise, I just merge the data folders and overwrite.

3. I've started installing the skeletons a second time here. Depending on the DMRA / BBB, they sometimes pack their own skeletons. I don't like this so I just reinstall the Growlf of Coronerras ones. I know it's unnecessary to do it the first time if I do it again here, but I do it anyway.

4. Clothing/armor replacers and things that don't really matter are installed. These are usually done through obmm. If not obmm, I just merge the data folders.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there are any questions to help you better understand my situation, please feel free to ask. I have no idea what I'm doing.

Sorry' date=' yeah. I meant OBSE. I have been using that one.

I do have Archive Invalidation already installed. I've used this one - http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/10724. I don't go through OBMM to do that, but I'll try. I'll uninstall that and use OBMM.

Are you usng the Body from the thread links you posted? If so, than I'm sorry to say that the body currently does not work. I believe Ark of Truth was looking into fixing it at one point. Don't know what happend to him. :/

I had the same issue you have now, since I downloaded the same body type. So you're most likely going to have to wait until Ark or someone else updates it.

The one I have been using is Saaya's BBB for BBB from the Nexus because I gave up on Ark's. It hasn't been working either, though. If there's there's an issue with all of them, then I guess I'll have to live without, though that's very unfortunate.

Also, Archive Invalidation did not change anything. Thanks for the suggestion anyhow.

Your problem appears to be related to the archive invalidation issue.

That A.I.I thing is obsolete. Just give it a try doing it via OBMM

If that doesn't work let's find some other way

Oh and use Growlfs Universal Skeleton controllable for the skeleton.

=======

edit: oops. it didn't work then.

Hmm, the body is not a problem at all. You can try SetBody and AutoSetbody as a walkaround. The problem now is the skeleton.

You can try pulling DMRA files out of the setbody package and using it instead. I don't know what is different between the clothing mesh and the base body mesh. or you can use autosetbody to change every last person's body. Say, archive invalidation also didn't work for the skeleton issue?

Well I have not seen one important thing, where is your Specialanims.esp? You have not mentioned installing a BBB animation once.

BBB will NOT function with normal animations. Try installing this and see if it fixes your issue.

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/32572

To be honest if you followed the instructions to the letter in my thread it would be working for you.

Are you using Wrye Bash or Oblivion Mod Manager?

@Delta

The body mod was never broken, it was just a corrupt data bit from Mediafire. Should be fixed now.

I picked up Pretty Woman and I installed the basic animations from it. I ignored the bonus and optional for now. It didn't really help.

DMRA isn't actually changing the stock body at all. I've followed the instructions. I have my chosen skeleton (Growlf's). I (now) have my chosen animations. I installed the entire shop mod from the Ark of Truth thread (all of the NPCs wearing the armor have the stretched breasts). EDIT: BSA redirection is selected, also.

I'm still left with the Oblivion stock body with underwear after dropping the DMRA Seamless Body (BBB+BButts) files directly into the meshes/characters/_male folder and the characters using the armor from the store have stretched breasts.

I use OBMM, but not when installing the actual body mod and skeleton. I just drop those files directly into their designated folders.

Try installing Wrye Bash 295 from here and then see if that fixes it.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/oblivionworks/files/Wrye%20Bash/Wrye%20Bash%20295/Wrye%20Bash%20295%20-%20Installer.exe/download

Users in the past have had this issue (including myself) and it went away after installing Bash.

Please can you go to the following paths and check to see if files are there.

Oblivion\obmm <<< Is BSARedirection.bsa located here?

Oblivion\Data <<< Is ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa located here?

I have Wrye Bash 303 already on my computer (not yet installed) but it is 303, not 295. Does it not matter which one I use, or should I just stick with 295? Also, just install it?

And both of those files are in the correct locations.
