Skyrim SE crashing, BSOD

Hi. As title says I've been having issues the past day with my Skyrim SE. First I'll explain I suppose. Everything has been running rather smoothly since I installed my mods, that was up until I hit the Dawnstar sanctuary. Now there wasn't an issue right off the bat, in fact everything was fine until I got it rennovated courtesy of Delvin. Once returning, after about a minute on the inside my game froze, my main screen turned orange, secondary went purple and the most ungodly sound came from my headphones. Sounded like dial up having a bad acid trip. Computer froze up completely forcing me to hard reset. My first thought was 'Oh no, the BSOD! But it's orange, is that worse?' never seen it before.

After it had rebooted I thought (hoped) it was just a fluke and reloaded the game. Lasted a few seconds inside the sanctuary until once again the game froze, only this time it restarted itself. Whelp, we got a problem. Let's try a different approach. This time I decided to load a save prior to upgrading my Dawnstar sanctuary, thinking that maybe there was a shitty texture inserted with the rennovations. Running toward Volunruud to collect the sweet moolah and my game once again crashed, although now I could still hear my game running, the screen was just black. Using my movement keys awarded me with the sounds of running about, although I couldn't seem to draw my weapons and couldn't open task manager once again forcing me to hard reset. Tried again a final time in vain only for the game to crash again when trying to open the world map, back to freezing up completely with an orange screen and computer restarting.

Did a bit of researching and found someone with a similar issue that seemed to fix it by running an nifscanner and fixing any broken textures. When I tried this myself I found a ton of 'error reading blah blah blah' but couldn't seem to fix it, even though I made the batch file and put the command line in it did nothing. The exact command line being:

Quote

NifScan.exe
NifScan.exe -fixdds >errors.txt
pause

Failing that I tried switching my load order around to no avail, tried getting rid of my newest installed mods but all that ended up doing was making my save too unstable to run forcing me to reinstall the mods just to get back on to test it. Unfortunately I know next to nothing about load orders and thus have never really even touched it until now. My mindset being 'well it looks like it works fine so I'll just leave it, lest I fuck something up'.

If anyone was wondering those mods in particular were SexLab Horrible Harassment and Dripping When Aroused. I don't know if they had a role to play in this or not, I'm merely trying to cover as many bases as possible

Someone pointed out it may be my graphics card failing, which I hope to god it's not. Don't really have the money to be replacing that puppy at the moment. Then again it's Palit so who knows ?attempted to install newest graphics driver, didn't do squat. Was also mentioned that an inadequate PSU can be cause for some issues. Considering my PSU is more than powerful enough I doubt it's this

Some system info:

OS - Windows 10 64 bit

Graphics - GTX 760

CPU - intel i5 6500

RAM - 16 gig

PSU - Corsair 750 watt

Game running on high by default

Total mods installed - 87, total active - 70

Exported right from NMM, looks like it added optional stuff that doesn't show up on my NMM loader

I don't run LOOT, or MO. NMM only. Probably a stupid thing really, but I really don't know load orders at all. My only expierence doing it ended in complete and total catastrophe. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. If anyone wants an additional info I might have missed, I'd be happy to supply it

EDIT - Ran game again paying close attention to my graphics card. In less than a minute even standing around in Volunruud my graphics card temp has gone in excess of 80 degrees, and it's using pretty much 100% of memory. Going to Whiterun lasts only a few seconds before my computer crashes and restarts. So yeah, I think it's that. Gonna open up my computer, clean it out and lower my SE graphics settings even though it's been a non issue until now. Will see what happens.

It is very unusual that a program would the reason for so called BSOD. Unresposive game, yes, but hard reset ... More common is hardware, drivers or crap Microsoft Win10 "feature update".

The last time I had problems like that(many many years ago), it was bad video card.  Common reason is also PC overheat. Many times its just dust + hot weather. Cleaning PC helps.

About mods. Had very bad experience(crash and stuff) with mods that do:

- weather

- water

- fancy vannila armor replacers. I use just simple CBBE. Individual fancy armor is OK, just not "fancy for all NPCs"

- tons of "better hair" that I never used

- SoS full. I use "light" version. Its because scripts

- CreatureFramework

- creatures with all body parts that have not been converted to SE properly

- any "improved combat" mod that has scripts

- custom followers with their own skeleton (that was funky and the reason for CTD)

You have lots of "better textures" mods. How much RAM does you vid card have? 6GB+ ?.  Big HD textures have to go somewhere.

lol 2gig. I'm thinking yeah might be taxing the graphics card a little too much. But as I said I've been running with this for like a week or so and it's all been good. I'll remove some of my high res mods and see if that helps stabilize things. Took my pc apart earlier and took the compressor to it, in retrospect I should've done it sooner. Big ol' clouds of dust everywhere

EDIT: Taken off some of the higher res stuff such as Pure Waters, 2k Ore Veins, High Res Rugs etc. will test and report back

EDIT2: I bring news, after testing once again my efforts have made no difference. Temps on GPU still skyrocket, vRAM is completely used up and it all crashes. Happened while I was talking to an NPC, even after crashing and the screen went green this time, they continued their dialogue as if the game was still running in the background. And yet I couldn't progress dialogue or task manager.

I think it's pretty conclusive that yeah, my card is dying. But I can't be sure, I'm not a huge computer buff. A second opinion would be nice. Currently eyeing up a very enticing 1060 ?

Some play with more mods you have, but are not talking about green or yellow screen ...

If you still need proof, backup Skyrim(don't forget game save files and ini), delete and let Steam reinstall everything. Test with no-mods version.

You have extra PC somewhere? I mean if your vid card dies, you can't even go online and buy a new one :/

You have a backup? Like of everything. Lost a disk once. Was not pretty. All those online accounts, security certificates for banking, stuff. Even had hard time to remember password for this site.
