raptor4d4 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Not sure if this is the right place for this but this is a problem that has been driving me crazy for a long time. I have a scene I want to set up for a pic set, comic or whatever. I get the NPC I want, I position them and then I use a pose mod to apply the pose I want. But all too frequently after I put them in the pose, the NPC starts headtracking me and looking at me no matter which way I go. Sometimes this is helpful for a specific pose but most times it's a nuisance and causes their bodies to distort in unwanted ways or clip through things. The only "fix" I've found is to select them in the console, walk a considerable distance away to break their headtracking and activate the tai command to freeze them while hoping that I've moved far enough away. Is there a way to disable NPC headtracking? I asked this question once before and the only answer I got was "Use the pose mod on them again to force them into the pose". Yeah...that doesn't work. Can anyone help me please?
sen4mi Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Perhaps https://vectorplexus.com/topic/383-no-more-npc-headtracking-with-sam/ has some relevant clues?

Tex Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 If you want to disable the NPC headtracking as whole you could use console with the command TAI

Or is there some other way to use TAI to disable it that I'm unaware of?

In that post you linked, the person was experiencing NPCs no longer headtracking and wanted it to start again. I have NPCs headtracking me and I want it to stop. However his experience seems to have been a glitch tied to SAM. I don't want to disable headtracking all the time, just be able to turn it off when I need to. When I use TAI, I select an NPC in the console and then use the command to only freeze that NPC. I know you can technically use TAI when you don't have an NPC selected but I haven't tried it much. Would that disable all headtracking temporarily?

kadsend Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Sorry for hijacking this thread, but is there a game setting or animation file dictating how the NPC headtracking work? I would love if they stop moving their entire torso when trying to talk to me and just move the head like a sane person...
